Hey, I bought the new version and have two annoying bugs:
1. Videos that are located on external USB are crashing the app - I have 500MB internal drive and 2TB external with USB 3.0. Now, working with the videos I experienced a crash (nothing new - pretty common in 2019), so I tried to restart the app - without any success, app loads and then crashes again. Heck no! - I restarted the PC and tried to load the app again - crash. So I disconnected the USB drive - works like a charm... this is pretty annoying
2. The Ripple editing does not work for grouped videos and overlays - I made a group of 3 videos and 2 overlays (motion tracking) - then I put the video as the first - the group, being still the group - is no longer integral - the videos slipped away...
Can some one please try to replicate these and confirm?

Re: VS2020 - Two annoying bugs
Regarding your first problem, I too nearly always use video on an external USB 3 drive, and do so with VS 2020 as well. I have had no problems, but to test this again I have just connected that drive, and opened a variety of formats in VS 2020 with no crashes, or indeed any other problem. So I can't replicate that problem. Is there anything special about the type of video you are trying to open?
I note, by the way, you say you have only a 500 MB internal drive. I assume you mean 500 GB...
Regarding your second problem, can we assume you activated Ripple Editing for both the main timeline and the overlay track? On my 2020, the Ripple Editing mini icon, which looks a bit like a paper clip (to the extreme left of the tracks), should be blue for both tracks. And when I insert a video at the beginning of the timeline, both the original videos in the main timeline and the overlay videos all move to the right...

Re: VS2020 - Two annoying bugs
Thanks Ken,
For the first one - northing special for the clip. Produced by Hero5 (or 6) and, being mp4, put directly into timeline. It does not happen immediately - just after a while, looks either like a cache problem or maybe the drive went sleep and while waking up, the app is crashing (first not responding, then out of a sudden - back to desktop). I will try to record this behavior in the next days.
For the later - indeed 500GB
For the second - I was especially talking about grouped videos, and indeed, I am used to select ripple on all titles, overlays and texts, leaving music intact.

Re: VS2020 - Two annoying bugs
Just happened to me again, now without the disk connected at all.
I'm not able to open Videostudio anymore, even blank without any file loaded.
This is getting ridiculous.

Re: VS2020 - Two annoying bugs
What do you mean when you say that you are unable to open VS anymore, can you launch the program, if not. open task manager and kill any Corel Video Studio processes, VS does not always close properly, then try launching again

Re: VS2020 - Two annoying bugs
Just to elaborate on Robert's suggestion, look in Task Manager under Background Processes -- VS may be listed under C for Corel Video Studio...

Re: VS2020 - Two annoying bugs
Thank you both, I tried that.
So this is what happens - I do an edit (use multi trim a lot as the footage is from two cameras), everything is ok.
I exit VS, then try to reopen - I see the logo (nice transparency), the app loads, I can even do "something" for a second or two, then the mouse cursor gets "waiting" (round animation) and the app closes without warning to the desktop. Killing all the processes, getting back to app - same thing.
I took the time to reinstall the app - now it works again.
When I try to "repair" - it shows me errors (error encountered... please click on ok) several times till the process of repairing completes and no difference in app behaviour.
Only uninstall and install again works.
BTW - just work up and tried to open my previous project - crash. Opening again without a project - crash...

Re: VS2020 - Two annoying bugs
I just registered the crash.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9d_os- ... e=youtu.be
The most terrible thing is that I spent two days working on a project that I cant open in VS2019 now anymore, so basically lost all the data.
Should I open a claim ticket in Corel?
