Mandalorian-like intro slide

Post by flr9003 »

Hi. I was interested in creating an intro slide to a video I am working on, with similar to the Mandalorian, meaning, not the same as but similar design:
-dark background
-transparent font
-font sees back to a photo behind it
I've looked on youtube and googled but I can't seem to find any instructions. I'm sure it probably involves using chroma key. If anyone has a link to a page with instructions or can give instructions on how, that would be amazing. Trying to create this type of effect:

Thanks for your replies. This is odd. I do not have a mask and chroma key/overlay options button/panel in the first video link.

In the second video link, I do not have the lasso link for mask/chroma key either. See my screenshot below.

I DO have an FX chroma key effect drag and drop but the options screen shows nothing to do with mask and chroma key. Ugh. Any further help?

Before going any further, tell us what version of VS you are using.

Yes it sounds as though you are using an older version of Videostudio which does not have all the options shown in the You Tube video - but even so you will not be able to access the mask and chroma key options until you put something in the overlay track - then double click on the item in the overlay track and when the option panel opens click on the second tab of that 'Effect' and then click to tick the 'apply overlay options'

Thanks all. I was able to figure it out. As mentioned in the posts above, I did not have the text that I had made into a slide, in the overlay track. Once I moved that, I was able to get done what I wanted. Although I've been working with this program for many years (not a pro but can make a nice video), it still seems 'buggy'. After I completed this small intro, if I dragged and dropped an Fx onto to the overlay (such as Slow blur), I could not get the options menu to open to adjust the effect. C'est la Guerre. I'm just happy that you all were able to get me on track to get my basic see-through effect. Thanks to all again.

You might get more help if you were to post what version you are running.

By the white VS icon I guess it isn't ultimate version.
