If you want non-stop advertising on your computer, just install this software on it.

I tried deleting CUH.EXE, renaming it, deleting the folder, creating a folder with only admin being able to write to it . . . none of which stops the malware called Corel Update Helper.

Please stop reinstalling it each time I use your software. All it has done is convince me never to spend another penny with Corel.

Simply disgusting!!!

What Corel program installed it, I have VS, PS23, PaintShop Pro, PhotoMirage,Corel Painter and other Corel programs,none of which have installed the Corel Update Helper, and can find no trace of such a program anywhere, neither do I have a CUH.EXE file in any of the programs

Video Studio x10, Aftershot Pro 3, and Particleshop. Dropped all the PSP products after they changed the licensing. Found something else that never pumps ads while I'm in other programs or even when I close their program -- and it's cheaper as well as a better program with user friendly licensing.

I have CUH in C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\CUH\v2, though heaven knows which Corel program it is associated with -- or all of them! I have VS2019, PSP 2020, CorelDRAW X7, Corel Painter 2019 and a couple of smaller Corel programs. I have given up trying to eradicate the ads completely. Instead I regularly delete everything in C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Roaming\Corel\Messages and C:\ProgramData\Corel\Messages. They start filling every time I open a Corel program. The one I get every morning at 7:30 a.m. on the dot is for Corel Painter 2020...Only very occasionally for another Corel program, though I regularly receive reminders for the latest version of Nero which of course is not Corel's...

Thanks Ken, did find the CUH in X86

To turn off (supposedly) for each Corel Program, go to Help/Message Preferences, from the dropdown box select "Do not show me Tray messages for this Application"

While I say I only now receive messages from Painter, oddly enough, while checking all my other Corel products, I have never turned off messages for Painter! Have just done so... Now let's see what happens tomorrow at 07:30 a.m.!!

Robert's suggestion works (at least, the messages and panels offer this 'feature') for 2019,2018, X10 but not for X9, which has a quite different message box and no options.

I'm using VS X9. I haven't found a way to turn of the stupid ad on my computer yet. That version doesn't have the Help / Message Preferences. I would love to get rid of that ad from poping up all the time.

The Message Preferences on earlier versions of Video Studio were under the Corel Guide, the circular icon to the top right of the library, although some versions had that orange ring to the left, immediately above the library, a popup will may show Get more Content
Once in Corel Guide there is a cogwheel top right, that should show the options.

Nope neither of those help with VideoStudio X9. They both reference the "Message Preferences" menu under the Help menu which doesn't exist on X9.

I don't know if I'm not looking in the correct place but I just do not see any circular icon above the library area (I'm assuming that's the area in the upper right). The only circular one is up in the top window frame but that's a Discover Center which just opens a web page.
