Any major differences or fixes in 2020
Thinking (again) of upgrading. Other than additions to the program have there been any major or minor fixes (hope, hope, hope). Though I do want to thank the administrators (go between) for their hard work in helping (at least me) over the years. I have learned quite a bit, though still there is always more to learn. Sometimes I think we take the administrators for granted.

But - as the largest IT research and consulting company in the world (Gartner) is wont to say - don't do anything until the first service pack is released. In the case of VS, past experience suggests better advice would be the 2nd service pack which generally is around May of the calendar year.

Generally I keep the previous version installed for a while. The quirks I usually fine it seems are out of the ordinary if there is such a thing.

Re: Any major differences or fixes in 2020
One highlight what Corel has lifted on 2020 is "NEW Trim/Edit Tools". We all know the current timeline is not useful. E.g. one case I lifted for them, if you copy a clip to Overlay, the clip goes at the end of the Overlay
Why?? Also if you remove clip from overlay that impacts to all clips behind that and your project is in mess
So, yes, waiting to see have they really improved that.

It seems they've added the Boris FX on the Ultimate version. That will be tempting for me to upgrade, because I just love Boris Fx Titling.[img][img][/img][/img]

Re: Any major differences or fixes in 2020
I used to tutor a video editing class, so keeping multiple versions of VS installed was handy for issue resolution with a student problem but beyond that it was handy for project workflow (start a project in a version, you should keep it there, even if a later version becomes available): mixing versions even with the 'save as' facility can create problems.
And VS allows this: only one version can run at a time, and there's a few seconds after closure of one version before opening a second is allowed. Generally retention of several versions has been useful safety feature: something wrong? check a prior or later version to confirm.

...but I am sure that it isn't the full BorixFX Continuum. Just maybe the Title program as before.

You said it Tony. I just hope you are mistaken, but let's wait and see what tomorrow brings. Fingers crossed.TonyP wrote:...but I am sure that it isn't the full BorixFX Continuum. Just maybe the Title program as before.

Re: Any major differences or fixes in 2020
There is no way BorisFX will have a full version of Continuum for CVS. No way. Especially at the price it is. I have it (Continuum 2020) for Vegas Pro which uses OFX plugins. Comes with Mocha for tracking.
Corel will continue to leverage BCC, but that's about it. You can uncross those fingers and get back to editing.
