I have rendered many videos to an external drive as backup, which are usually identified by
Folders, and when I click on the Folder icon the indivial files are shown by dates which allows for easy reference without
having to "hunt and search" for a particular segment. I'm not sure why but most recently my rendered videos have resulted
in only a large file of the entire program, without breaking it down into individual files by dates which I use as easy referencing
to a particular segment of the video without having to run thru the entire program. What am I doing wrong, and how can I get
back to the previous way? I am very frustrated.

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate 2018 Rendering
Hi Bernie
Using the Share process will render / create a single file of the project, this is normal and has been the same in all versions of Video Studio
There is a process called Smart Packaging access from the File menu
This will save copies of all clips used within the project to a new folder, and indeed a good way to archive the project files.
I can only assume you have used this method in the past?

Thanks Trevor for your response....
No, I have never used the Smart Packaging feature, and have always arrived at the same results with a Folder of the project and when
clicked it would display the various files according to dates, which would then allow easy access to any portion of the video project.
I suppose this can be compared to a Directory when rendering the project to a DVD, but since my project is rendered directly to an
external drive there is no Directory, and the resulting files thus allow for easy access to any portion of the video without having
to "hunt and peck" for a specific part of the video. (not sure you know what I mean?)

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate 2018 Rendering
Can anyone tell me how to render a Video Studio project so it results in
a Folder containing Files by dates, instead of one large File? The Files serve
as a directory for accessing the various subject matters, etc. when reviewing
the project on TV. The project is rendered to an external drive instead of to
a DVD which would normally have a directory. I am totally confused on this matter,
since I have previously rendered projects and they always result in a Folder with
inclusive files. What am I doing wrong???
