VSX6 SILENT After Windows 8.1 Audio Driver Update

Windows Media Player and Video Studio X6 don't like the new audio drivers. Windows had a conflict with the ASUS pairing of Realtek and finally had to be updated, restoring all sounds other than WMP and VS which I need and use the most. A reinstall of VS failed to resolve the issue and I happen to have VSX10 but this system doesn't meet MIN REQ. ... any suggestions?

Hours were spent searching for answers here and elsewhere, PLEASE HELP.

You could try installing K-Lite, it’s a codec pack.
Corel do recommend using to fix problems with HD video but may help with audio.

Thanks Trevor, I've used K-Lite before and it worked out well, but the only version DOWNLOAD dot com seems to have is for Android devices, plus it's just that one driver that might be 64 bit or something that VS doesn't like. VLC and ZOOM players didn't work until switching them to the default wave out setting. IDK I'll have to think about it... but thanks.
