Camera Raw Lab - Vignette correction does nothing!
I have just purchased a Lumix DC-FZ80 and wanted to use RAW format so that I could correct some of the color balance and noise in this camera. However, at the 20mm wide setting the image shows extensive vignetting. The camera corrects for this as the jpg is fine. But, loading into Camera Raw Lab and trying to correct for this doesn't seem to work at all. In fact, I've tried all the settings and entering min and max values for all of them. The final image is basically the same as the original. What gives?

It's a bit hard to tell from the posted image but the dark areas at the corner of the picture could be lens distortion rather than vignetting as the cut-off is very sharp. The camera will correct lens distortion in producing the jpeg by stretching/compressing the pixels. (My Nikon SLR and Sony 'bridge' do it.) However, PSP Raw Lab is very basic. Aftershot 3 is a bit better but it all depends on the lens profile having been put into the database of cameras/lenses. My Sony RXM10 wasn't in Aftershot's database and the program would not even open the RAW images. However with a bit of research and some test shots I was able to create acceptable database entries.
I don't know if Panasonic have a 'free' RAW editing program. Sony (basic) & Nikon(OKish) do.

Panasonic cameras come with a free copy of Silkypix bundled with the hardware. Upgrades (Panasonic only) are inexpensive. I have upgraded to SP9, for example. Canon has its own bespoke raw convertor.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.
