Help please! Win10 file associations can't see PSP 2020!

Post by BarneyL »

It was working fine when I installed, then some 'Snip and Sketch' thing hijacked it or some update to Win10 broke things, even with me setting PSP 2020 to associate all the listed files, when I open a jpg it opens in Snip and Sketch, and the settings dialog in Win10 for associating file formats doesn't even SEE PSP! Is there a fix, easy or?? Please, thanks!

Have you checked via Windows 10 settings.
Start > Settings > Apps> Default Apps and see if you can set it up there.
Do you really need the Snip and Sketch App - perhaps uninstall it?
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

I believe Snip and Sketch is an MS app which comes with Windows. As such, it might not be able to be removed. But why it has taken over the associations is another matter...

Now that's crazy - I went to the settings THAT way, rather than from... the way I had and it was there to change over to default app and all's well! Thanks!
