Error Messages When I Try To Save File

Post by cinmcw »

Suddenly, when I try to save an image I have created, I get the message "file writing error" (when I try to save in .ufo format) and "failed to save the file" (when I try to save in .jpg format).

Please help. I have images I have created and do not want to lose. Thank you so much.

Where is the image file originally saved? If it is saved on an external or removable drive, make sure that device is properly connected or does not have write protect enabled.

You can try the "Save As" command from the "File" menu... or try to duplicate the image file by pressing [Ctrl]+[D] then saving the new file instead.

If using Windows, open Windows explorer and find the file you are trying to save. Right click, and open Properties. Check to see if file is marked Read Only, which probably is the case if it was opened from CD or DVD. Clear that attribute, and you should be able to save OK. (but probably not back to the same CD or DVD)

Thank you for your help and replies! The problem has been fixed! I ran my anti-virus software, deleted any viruses, and now PhotoImpact is working fine!

I doubt that this issue has anything to do with running the virus scanner. It's more likely due to your HDD's filling up. http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic. ... highlight=
