VideoStudio Ultimate 2019 - Transition Troubles

Post by wcsd106 »

Hello,

I'm a long time user of VideoStudio. Ran X4 for many years, but have upgraded the past 4 years whenever the new version comes out. I'm having an issue with 2019 that's flat out giving me fits.

When I'm editing something on the main timeline and click on the A/B tab to put in a transition, videostudio is jumping to the end of the current clip. This requires me to scroll back to where that clip meets the previous clip (The exact spot I'm wanting to place a transition)

If I click off of the clip prior to clicking the transition button, it doesn't jump to the end and stays at the part of the timeline I want to place the transition in.

This is the first version of videostudio that has done this to me. The rest have stayed put whenever I hit transition.

Is there a way I can disable this or is this just the new norm?

Thanks.

Hi wcsd106
Thanks for raising this issue…….
I have run through this procedure using earlier versions of Video Studio and only CVS2019 is showing this issue.
Although the cursor may move to the beginning of the clip the actual clip remains in place on the timeline allowing me to add the transition correctly.

But it is different to how earlier versions work
Can I also ask you to report this anomaly to Corel Support, if you go to Help – there is a link for Corel Support.

I have encountered the same problem. The workaround seems to be to be to select Project (instead of Clip) from the Video Track, THEN click the Transitions menu. Not intuitively obvious, but it seems to work.
