Welcome to the forum.

When you save a project in VS2019, if you look closely, you will see there is a dropdown arrow near the Save box. This allows you to choose to save the project in either VS2018 or X10 format. Choose the latter. Be aware, though, that if you have used functions in VS2019 which were not available back in X10, those aspects of the project will not open in X10.

It would probably also be worthwhile saving your VS2019 project in 2019 format but with a different name. Then choose one of them -- the original or the renamed project -- to save in X10 format. That way, at least you will have a clean version to reopen in VS2019 if something goes wrong in X10.

This "save as" method normally works well, but there are occasional issues. Particularly if you switch back and forth (eg, save as x0, edit in x10 then open again in 2019 and try to save as x10 again) between versions.
As a general work practice, once you start a project in a particular version, say x10, then you should stick with that version until the project is complete. If you want to use a feature in a later version (eg, split screens in 2018 or later) then from that point on only use the later version for your project files.
