Converting music formats
I want to convert some wma music clips to mp3. I've tried audacity and even video studio - but that particular conversion seems beyond the tools I have. Anyone have a suggested conversion program that would do it?

Re: Converting music formats
Hi Davidk, I have successfully used dBPoweramp 16.5 64-bit for all quick conversions, they have many codecs free to add on including dBpoweramp-Codec-WMA10Pro which is probably what you are looking for.

Hi David
Just wondering why you would want to convert to MP3
Lots of converters when searching the web
Format Factory has been used by forum members to convert video but also supports audio conversion
You could try that

Re: Converting music formats
Trevor,
Basically, my Android smartphone won't play anything but mp3.
So, per various advice, I've found one that works OK.

Re: Converting music formats
gewb,
I used FF some years ago trying to convert some video clips. Wasn't very successful and I uninstalled it. Currently I have Handbrake for video conversions.
For the music conversion, I searched a number of sources and tried out this one (which worked OK -meaning converted 1 wma clip to mp3 successfully) - NCH switch free v7.45

Re: Converting music formats
Hi Adi,
Interesting that there should be an app for it in the play store - when the phone (app, play store and android all by google) simply doesn't show wma music files in the selection display even tho they are in the audio folder. That was what cued me to the problem in the 1st place - I knew there were music pieces in the folder that I never saw in the selection window (if you can't select it obviously you can't play it). Finally figured it out when I took the time to look the audio folder over in some detail and the wma filetype of the unseen possible selections just leapt out.
Why the interest in this - well, given the weather here right now, early mornings - sunrise or just after - is the coolest time of day (23-26deg C) for an exercise walk of several Km (the doc told me that if I'm not sweaty afterwards it's not doing any good), and I've come to like to doing that with music.
