Hi, I am trying to capture all of my 12 old Sony Video 8 tapes with Videostudio 8 but I find that the capture keep stopping when the tape goes blank in between camera use, is there any way round this as I was just hoping to capture 100% of the tapes without any editing, with the capture continously stopping it becomes very time consuming having to restart the capture button again and again, any ideas please?
cheers

You aren't saying what you are using to capture, but I suspect it's a digital capture, and not an analog one. Your capture device (digital camcorder?) is probably hitting sections of tape between scenes that don't have a timecode, and stops.
If it doesn't stop, then the problem may be that the "Split by scene" feature in UVS is turned on. Again, it goes off the timecode, and if no valid timecode is received, the program will interpret it as the end of the tape.

Yes, it's an analogue camcorder, a Sony Video 8 camcorder that takes a Sony Video 8 analogue tape, going into my old ATI all in graphics card, is that what you asked?THoff wrote:You aren't saying what you are using to capture, but I suspect it's a digital capture, and not an analog one.
