Hi guys. I am working on an hour-long project that is due in a couple of weeks. I use MSP 7.3, with all the patches installed. I also have Ulead DVD Movie Factory 4 installed on my computer. My source is standard DV NTSC 720x480, 29.97fps. I want to output to DVD-NTSC, using CBR set at 7000kbps, AC3 256kbps. I created a final mpeg2 file and wanted to use Movie Factory to author my DVD. Out of precaution, I ran the file through Bitrate Viewer, just to make sure that the bitrate is DVD-compliant. I was very surprised when I found out that my bitrate peak was 9921kbps! I then looked at the graph and noticed that this peak only occurred once, at the very end of the project (the last second). Has anyone else noticed their CBR encoded Mpeg2's peaking high then the set rate at the end of the timeline?
A side note - I have also noticed that when I go to Create Video File, and try and change bitrate under Mpeg2 Compression Settings, it does not stick. It only sticks if I go in the Advance menu and input my bitrate there. I am 100% sure that this was working a couple weeks ago. I even uninstalled all the Ulead software from the scratch, cleaned out all the remaining files, registry, and then reinstalled everything, but nothing helped. Any thoughts and suggestions will be appreciated.
Mpeg2 Bitrate Spike at the end of a project (CBR)
I've seen anomalous figures at both ends of a clip in Bitrate Viewer. I believe that it is the viewer that is wrong as, at least in my case, the DVD burnt and played correctly. Did yours?
