Post by Ken Veal »

I have rendered a 6.43 GB M2T file that is obviously too long to fit on a standard DVD.What is the best way to sort this self imposed issue out please

Ken -- I trust you realize that an m2t file is not a compatible DVD file. It is more than likely to be a high definition file. For the DVD, you have to down-convert it to standard definition mpeg-2, which *is* DVD-compatible. Depending on the properties of the original, I would probably -- if it is an hour or less long -- go for an mpeg-2 with a bitrate of 8000 kbps, and Upper Field First, unless the original is progressive, in which case I would use Frame Based. Audio could be standard LPCM or Dolby dual channel stereo.

...Or are you wanting to burn an AVCHD hybrid disc i.e. like a Blu-Ray disk but on a standard DVD disk?
