I recently edited on VS some short videos adding some background music too ( for a work project ). I recorded them on an IPAD. An IPAD 6 i think. At the time the sound was all fine, no issues ( used an external mic as well ). Edited as per the norm..again, no problems.
When i came to upload ( via usbstick ) to my work computer the sound was immediately so low...the voice and background music really really -even maxed out volume. Works fine at home, works fine on a mobile phone etc
Also, i edited previous using footage from an IPHONE. These videos sound worked fine on my work PC. Work PC hasnt soundbar etc just inbuilt ( did speak to our ICT dept - no joy there - just the way it was captured was the responce via the IPAD ).
SO - question - before i get the sack!! - any thoughts on this. Using IPAD seems to of effected the sound ( on a standard PC ) but, again, whilst editing etc no issues, didnt change any setting, edited in just the same way as i edited all the others ( some using an iphone ) and which work fine.
THOUGHTS WELCOME PLEASE. Any any ideas on a fix? - change settings in VS? if so ..which ones? I have the saved finished edit..i can bring it back into VS and..hopefully..simply...press a button and hey presto sound will be fine ( but again, how will i know..because on my PC ( with external speakers..but nothing special, very old ones ) it all sound fine.
thanks for your time..advise please.
Sounds ok to me! Recorded on IPAD - work PC sound VERY LOW!!

Hi
Using my pc I would play a commercial created audio file, my favourite song or rip it from an audio disc.
Play that on Video Studio and set my pc speakers to a comfortable level.
Then play the audio recorded on the Ipad, is that level high enough?

Re: Sounds ok to me! Recorded on IPAD - work PC sound VERY L
thank you for the reply, but as usual i just do not understand what you mean!
My question was,
The sound on my rendered video ( filmed on an ipad ) is very very low when playing back on my works computers ( they have inbuilt speakers..old...nothing special ) . Yet, the video plays fine whilst editing in VS, playing it on my PC, mobile phone, youtube etc...no problem.
The fact that when i edited videos ( recorded on an Iphone..or just a normal camcorder ) ..they sound fine on work PC. SO clearly the issue is the IPAD settings.
SO - what i was asking, does anyone out there know..the answer / the settings i need to adjust VS when editing clips recorded on an IPAD. Thats my question.
Lata - your responce - welcome as it is - breaths life into this thread else will just disappear - playing a piece of music on VS !?! then setting to comfortable level..and then play ipad clip to that level....!?! - my video clips is made up of hundreds of clips, sound fxs ( taken from youtube ) , background music ( taken from youtube )...the levels ( that rubber banding does my nut in...and tend to opt for volume level ))
NOW - i will add..and this may be important Lata - ...ive made loads of videos...but recently i tend to use the Volume control level setting...eg, voice clip..music in background...goes from 500..down to 1....setting level to 1 or 2 or 3...and bringing voice clip to 140....seems to work....its' odd..i grant you...but playing on my PC, speakers, mobile etc...sounds fine. BUT, i am thinking could this be part of the issue. Must add...i did this for IPHONE as well...and this sounded fine on work PC as mentioned. NO! it's definately the different setting on IPAD - please note also, i used an external mic..the same mic plugged into iphone....so external mic isnt the issue..its the ipad.
ANSWERS PLEASE.

Re: Sounds ok to me! Recorded on IPAD - work PC sound VERY L
Hi
I cannot help with the Iphone or Ipad settings
My concern was if you had a recording that was low volume and used Video Studio to edit to hear that you would wind up your speakers.
But when you render would get the original volume, low
I set my external speakers to 50% and the System Volume within Video Studio to about 5 bars
By playing a music clip from an audio disc I can set VS to a comfortable level, with that set playing the IPad video should be a similar level.
If it is low then as you have mentioned can up the volume level from 1 to 500
That level will be used when rendering the video and should play back at a similar level on all machines.
If the works machine is low volume then you could increase the levels using Video Studio just for the works machine, but will be loud when playing on other machines.
The more you force the volume up the more distortion you are liable to have.
As you are increasing the entire volume I would not use Rubber Banding the 1 to 500 level would do.
A lot of work with 140 clips, you could render to a single video then increase the entire volume and render again?
If it is just the works machine speakers do you have other speakers you can add / plugin to the PC to boost the volume
