Thanks. That's one. I wonder if all of the other successful patchers were starting from that version as well.

Mine was also 22.1.0.43 before Patch 2.
Update via link was successful.
My original install file before Patch 1 was from the HumbleBundle download back in September 2019.

Hi Ken
Like you another day and unable to install the update through the program.
I have downloaded the Service Pack direct from the Corel site but not installed so far.

From the PSP 2020 program Help Check for updates reports that an Important Update is available
Update Now simply hides the panel behind the Program, Minimizing 2020 shows the panel, hit Update Now appears to refresh the panel to a larger one, I now have two panels, the original message and one as “Get the Latest Update!”
Update Now then opens a Download panel showing the progress as “%d%% of download completed”
And then the panel disappears
Nothing downloads
I have seen the above with previous versions of PSP, Corel did fix those.

With a new update I always try to update through the program just to test the auto update feature rather than doing a manual install, I do not intent to manually install this update and will wait for a fix from Corel, then I can test again.

Post Updated
There are a few .txt files saved to the %temp% folder relating to downloading this update indicates my download should be here
C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads\1576100336390\PSP2020_Update2.exe

But no, download just does not happen

Has this been reported to Corel / josephlin

Mine was 22.1.0.43. I downloaded the update from Corel's support page, rather than running the "Check for Update" from within Paint Shop Pro. I'm not sure if that's a factor, but thought I'd throw it out there.

I too started from 22.1.0.43.

Trevor - do you have 22.1.0.43 or 44? It could be that the version ending is 44 is the culprit.

Hi Kathy
I have 22.1.0.43 x 64

There is no difference in that version and the 44 version, apparently.
The only reason for the change is to identify where the program was purchased / downloaded from.

Reading the posts here i am uncertain if anyone has actually installed the update through the program
It appears that some may have downloaded the update direct from Corel and not installed via the program.

So has anyone actually installed this patch through the program

and has anyone informed Corel Support or josephlin that there is a problem?

Post updated
the file has downloaded but install has not started, the Update Now window still shows with no option to start the installation.

C:\ProgramData\Corel\Downloads\1576100336390 (PSP2020_Update2.exe)

If my memory serves me correct the last time this occurred deleting / purging the %temp% folder of PSP 2020 files allowed the installation to continue
I'll give that a go.

Yes, I was able to update via the program and did not need to download separately.

JoeB wrote:Ken, I have the same experience as you whether I try downloading and then running the update or go the Check for Updates route.

However, I note that you specifically said that you are running PSP 2020 v.22.1.0.44, as am I. Nobody else has bothered to mention whether or not they started with that version before the update or with 22.1.0.43. It would be kind of nice to know that information.
Thanks Joe. While noting Trevor's reference to 22.1.0.44 as only "to identify where the program was purchased / downloaded from", I suspect you may be on to something. I too have my PSP 2020 from the Humble Bundle purchase last September, and got the 44 from Update 1 on that version of the program. It is PSP Ultimate. Is yours also from Humble Bundle?

Trevor: I might add that I still can't update, and that is not just via Help > Check for Updates, but also directly from the downloaded file from the Corel website.

Ken
Yes i am aware that you are unable to update using either method
I have not tried manually running the service pack so dont know if it will be successful for me.

Just waiting to test the Check For Updates approach, assuming Corel are gonna fix this.
Clearly it does work for some as Kathy did update through the program.

Ken, yes, back when someone posted about it. Don't remember if, before update, is was .43. But I do think, if I recall correctly, that others did also. The thing is I use PSP2019 not 2020, and only tried Update 2 on 2020 out of curiosity because of this thread. :-)

Joseph Lin said that the update is only meant to target the original release version 22.0.0.132 and 22.1.0.43. He suggested I uninstall what I currently had, and reinstall the release version. I did so, but in the download process, it obviously was detecting the updated version on the server. So in fact now I have 22.2.0.8 after all without having the bother about the update!

Another case of the download not working properly.
I am on 22.1.0.43. Using 'Check for Updates' (or then 'Messages') I get the message that there is an update available. Clicking on 'Update Now' launches a splash window with 'Get the latest update' and a 'Update Now' button. Clicking on that generates another message pop-up that appears for only a fraction of a second with the window title something like '%d%% of Download Completed'. It then disappears and nothing further happens.
Without resorting to Task Manager, the only way to get back to PSP is to close the splash window.

- Quick update - manually downloading and applying the update from the Corel website worked. The geotagging error still exists (as expected!).

I read once that it is best to download an update or patch from the Corel update page, rather than through PSP itself.
I stuck to that ever since.
No problem installing.
I never update with PSP open.
When starting up PSP after update 2 was installed, I got the screens you get when Corel finds double items. So...some new materials if you have an Ultimate version?
I now have
22.2.08 and 22.2.08 x64
