That's curious. I downloaded the update, which is dated 9 January 2020. But when I tried to install it I got the message saying no update was required at this time. My version number is 22.1.0.44 which of course suggests it only has Update 1 installed. So then I opened PSP and went to Help > Check for Updates, and still got "There are no updates available at this time".

So what is going on? Have either of you actually managed to install this update? I note Kathy's reference to version number 22.2.0.8...

I just downloaded update 2 and installed. Paintshop Pro Ultimate is now version 22.2.0.8. Unfortunately the weird woman hanging in the chair on the splash screen that I removed has returned, of course!

I did it with the following steps :
- Close PSP. No need to uninstall.
- Download the Update 2 (approx. 345 Mo).
- Open the Update 2. It takes some time to install.
- Launch PSP. The version is now 22.2.0.8.
- It take some time (approx 1 minute on my system) for the first vision of the workspace.

Why are the release notes for update 1 and update 2 identical on the web page?

That is how I proceeded: I downloaded the update, closed PSP, then opened the update. It went through the process of unzipping itself. But then I get the message that no update is necessary at this time. I have tried it three times now, with the last time being after a reboot (for another reason). Still have 22.1.0.44...

And as I said above, when I open PSP, I go to Help > Check for Updates, and it tells me that no updates are available. I just checked it again.

My Experience
I had pSP 2020 open and used Help > Check for Updates - an update was found and the dialog said Update Now - I clicked on that and it proceeded a certain way but said PSP was running . I tried to close PSP 2020 and it was locked - even with Task Manager I could not close it while the install window was also open. In other words the dialog instead of downloading and then asking you if you want to run and also giving you a chance to close PSP, immediately tries to install which cannot be done while it is open, but you cannot close it while the install is in progress, but the progress cannot continue while PSP is open and basically you are locked out.
Using Task manager you have to close the install process thhen PSP 2020 but then you have nothing to install, What a mess!!!!

Only way I could do it was to go to the corel site download the update. Restart the computer just to be sure then run the Update so now have 22.2.0.8

I am experiencing the same when trying to install updates through the program. Although i did eventually manage to close using Task Manager, but that also closed the update download, which wasn't doing much anyway.

But Trevor, have you finally managed to get the update? I have just tried again -- another day, another reboot -- but am still failing...

I updated via the Help -> Check for Updates method. I experienced the same issues that others have mentioned about getting a message that PSP was running and needed to close. I had to use the Task Manager and was able to close PSP but leave the installer open. I was then able to complete the installation.

Ken, I have the same experience as you whether I try downloading and then running the update or go the Check for Updates route.

However, I note that you specifically said that you are running PSP 2020 v.22.1.0.44, as am I. Nobody else has bothered to mention whether or not they started with that version before the update or with 22.1.0.43. It would be kind of nice to know that information.
