Hi
A long user of Videostudio, I am on Version 2019.
When I come to burn a DVD, I add my video media to the window, click to have the first clip as an introductory clip, then click next.
When the screen comes up with the remote control and a preview, the software crashes. What can I do to get this to work?
Many thanks for the help.
Simon

Re: Burn DVD crashes
Hi Simon
You do not give any details of your video files.
When you say preview is that playing from the first window or after Next then Preview
You may be best in rendering the files to a compliant Mpeg2 DVD video as that is the format needed to burn a DVD.
I have just tried a few times with different video files and not had a crash.
What version of 2019 are you using?

Hi Trevor
Many thanks for the reply.
My videos are MP4s - perhaps I should try the MPEG 2 as you suggest. Would the quality be lower?
I've had a support chat with Corel and after clearing the temp files on the computer, it has got past the crashing at the preview screen, but now crashes when trying to form the DVD to make. Could this be file size and the file types?
The version I am on is 22.3.0.436 (64 bit version).
Many thanks for the help.

Re: Burn DVD crashes
A DVD has to use Mpeg2 video files, either we convert the files or the burner module will convert after pressing Burn with the Convert Title
your Mp4 videos may use progressive / frame based, you should create a mpeg2 template to use frame based
I think the default option may use interlaced and that will impact on quality.
Once you have converted the video you start a new project to clear the timelines, the Share - Create Disc - DVD
Then add your Mpeg2 files
On the last window choose to create a Disc Image, that will create an Iso file which can be played using VLC Media player to check quality before burning the disc
When you hit Burn the process should start with Convert Menu avoiding Convert Title and the additional render.
By the way how long is your project, total duration of all video files

Hi Trevor
Many thanks. I'll give that a try.
The DVD is about 4.3Gb in length. It is about 1 hour long.
