Hi all
I have recently used the multicam option in VS ultimate 2019. I have managed to sync the four cameras which I used, so far so good. At that point I want to save the project so that I can return and continue later. I used the top left cog 'save' option but when I return and open the project it only opens in the standard VS 'edit' screen. How can I get it to reopen in the 'multicam' screen?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Multicam project opening problem
Hi Chris
When you close the MCE a thumbnail MCE.vsp is placed in the library, double clicking that will open the MCE with your camera project intact.
It saves the MCE VSP to C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\22.0\MultiCam
OK
I usually add my camera recordings to the library, first creating a new library folder by hitting the +ADD
Selecting those and a right click gives the option to open MCE
This opens the Source Manager showing my clips in order.
At the top is the default name,(Multicam01) I change that to a more meaningful name, then OK to open the editor.
Sync my camera angles, then OK closes the MCE back to the timeline and the library with my MCE.VSP
Hope that helps

Re: Multicam project opening problem
My experience with MCE is a few months old but some comment on your workflow
1. the cog wheel 'save as' saves the state of play wherever it is (default) on the C drive but could not find it easily now, but generally not as a usable vsp file. If you can find where it is stored, you may find a copy of the work as it was when you last edited the multi-camera files and be able to use it as a base for further edit by clicking on the file. The main MCE panel does not have an input file control as such. Strong suggestion: do any MCE work in one session if you can, split into smaller parts helps that.
2. to get a usable vsp file from the MCE panel (stored as an icon in the workspace library/gallery as Trevor indicated) you need to click on the OK button at the bottom of the MCE panel. This puts a vsp icon in the main library.
3. back in the main VS workspace, click and drag the MCE project icon down to the timeline and it will expand to a full vsp (takes a few seconds to do that) reflecting the work you did in MCE. Once there, you will note that any audio in the individual clips you have used is muted, and the preferred audio selection from MCE now fills the audio track.
Any further editing (transition variance, filters, volume control various effects etc) of the combined camera files should be done in the main UI after step 3

Re: Multicam project opening problem
Hi Trevor & David thanks for your replies. I used the same process except that I used the save option (Cog top left) which did did not put a .vsp thumbnail in the library. - just getting xml files. Have now tried again using the 'OK' button and the thumbnail has appeared. Thanks again.
