Psp 2020 adding buttons to the material palette

Post by FlutteringBy »

Hello Everyone,

I will be making a jump from Psp 10.3 to Psp 2020.

I've been playing around with the trial version of Psp 2020, experimenting with customizing toolbars etc., I would like to add buttons (Gradient, Pattern, Texture) to the material palette, as shown below:
mat. pal.jpg
The image is from pg. 278 in the Psp 2020 user guide.

This will make the material palette a lot more user friendly than it is now.... :) ...

Many Thanks,

I'm a little confused as the Materials palette already looks like that. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding what you are saying.

I'm afraid that your screenshot is of the Material Properties dialogue, not the Materials palette that sits in the PSP workspace.

Thank you both for your responses....

This is what my material palette looks like:

Being a complete newbie to Psp 2020, I was hoping that I would be able to get my mat. palette to look like the mat. properties dialogue... ....

How do I access the mat. properties dialogue?...the Psp 2020 user guide says to click on either the foreground or background color & that gets me to the material properties & not the dialogue box...

I'm obviously missing a basic step.. :? ....

I appreciate your help,

Try left-clicking on one of the two large rectangles.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

You're using the classic materials properties. Some people really hated the new material properties and so Corel gave us back the original one for those who wanted it. It's enabled in the General Preferences.

File -> Preferences -> General Program Preferences

Click "Palettes" in the left-hand list

You should see an option that says "Use Classic Material Properties" make sure that is unchecked.

Thank you LeviFiction,

You supplied the missing link.... ...

I couldn't get over just how much my screens were looking like my old Psp 8, 9 & 10 versions...

It could be a "comfort" zone, good to know that they're there, but I will definitely give the new screens a try....

And I do like the look of the new material properties.... :D ...
