PSP 2020 - Menu text vanished

Hi out there and A Happy New Year!

My problem is that I have purchased the upgrade to PSP 2020 Ultimate. On my computer I already have PSP 2019 Ultimate and it works just fine.

However, after installing PSP 2020 and running the program all text on my menues have vanished. If I hoover over an menu item it lights up, but no text it visible.

The 2019 version still works fine, but the 2020 does not.

I have been in contact with support and have done all they told me to do, including uninstalling, running PSP Clean, deleting all temp files, restarted the PC and reinstalled. Several times, but it still does not show any text on the menues.

Finally support told me to reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate, but that is not possible as I have to many programs and files on my harddrives. I also don't have the time to spend days to reinstall everything.

Does anyone know what I can do to get the text on the menues to appear?

Finally support told me to reinstall Windows 7 Ultimate, but that is not possible as I have to many programs and files on my harddrives. I also don't have the time to spend days to reinstall everything.

Anyone who suggests that you reinstall your operating system just because you have one issue with one program is completely incompetent! But then, we're talking about Corel support. There's an oxymoron in there somewhere I think....

Odd. The Menu is the one constant over all the PSP variants. Try opening with shift-icon.

Shift+icon was one of the suggestions I got from support. Did not work. Even the text on the button was gone. If you start with Shift+icon you get a dialogue box with two options. I have tried both, without luck.

Try resetting PSP to default. Here are some instructions. They reference X6 but work on all versions.

At this moment PSP 2020 is not installed on my PC as I have tried all suggestions so far.

The suggestion made by Kathy looks fine, however I can't do the stuff that points to the menues as I can't see what is in there.

I have also checked my registry and there is no appearance of PSP 2020, so my PC is clean besides the PSP 2019.

At this moment PSP 2020 is not installed on my PC as I have tried all suggestions so far.

- If you move your cursor in the empty area, do you see the menus?
- If you click inside the empty area, are you able to deploy some menu?
- Be sure you are in Complete workspace.
- Try to load a PSP2019 workspace (usually not recommended but it is only for testing). If you don't have access to the menus, do the following:

- In PSP2019 save the workspace.
- Close PSP.
- Drag the saved workspace on the Windows Desktop.
- Right-click on this workspace and select Open with PSP 2020.

I would suggest re downloading PSP 2020 incase the file you originally downloaded had a fault.
Install accepting all the defaults - on C drive, both 32 and 64 bit versions.

Open PSP and go to the Edit workspace and see if you have the Menu bar present File , Edit, View, Image etc
If still not present use windows explorer to drag and drop an image into the workspace.
then try the shortcut keys - you can test these on your PSP 2019 to check if they work on your machine.
Try Alt + F for the File drop down (hold the Alt key down and then press the F key) , Alt + E for Edit, Alt + V for View etc - the keys are underlined on your 2019 Menu bar.

Note also that you appear to be using Windows 7 and might be time to bite the bullet and install Windows 10. Although others say it is a down grade I am not experiencing any real problems as I delay upgrading to the latest until I feel the bugs have been removed from the upgrades. I can delay by setting the wireless network as a metered one.

I have been using Win 10 after being a Win 7 diehard. Aside from a few annoyances, it does work. It is definitely a downgrade, but the alternative is going on the Internet without Updates. I would recommend taking his advice.

If you reinstall PSP2020 and still can't see the menu's try launching the program by holding down the shift key while double-clicking on the PSP desktop icon. This way you can reset the program without having to be able to see the menu's.
