Problem in Multicam Capture upgrade

Hello,
i just bought the upgrade of the Multicam Capture software and i received the email of confirmation and download.
When i install the file i receive the following message that "Setup cannot find a compatible version of Pinnacle studio or Video studio on your system. Setup will now exit"

Can anybody with the same problem assist me?

Welcome to the forum. However, as far as I am aware, you cannot buy an individual element of the program to upgrade it. You need to buy the whole Ultimate program at an upgrade price if you have (as I suspect you have) the non-Ultimate version. And you need to remove the existing installation and install the new one which contains multicam...

If you did in fact buy just the multicam element, I would be asking who you bought it from...

I had the same issue and same error message.
I tested the trial version. then upgraded to ultimate and got the "Setup cannot find a compatible version of Pinnacle studio or Video studio on your system. Setup will now exit".
I got this message when i tried to test the multicam version installed with ultimate. I found that is still had me restricted to 2 source files. so I tried to install the multi cam software. then it would not install. I would get the install message from windows and then nothing would happen when i clicked yes.
So i deleted the multicam install that was already there and tried to reinstall again. same thing happened. Then i went inside the multicam folder to try the manual install and that is when i got the error message.
Now I am in the process of deleting everything and running the cleaners and reinstalling everything again.
If it wont work this time i will have to refund. It should be fairly simple to upgrade from a trial version.

So it looks like the name has changed after installing the upgrade to "VideoStudio2019" and its saved on the desktop not in the program files folder. I still see the Corel Video studio folder in the program files. But for some reason i cant install the multicam software because it cant find the folder location.

First can you confirm that you do have CVS 2019 Ultimate and not the Pro version installed, as Kens first reply.
Although the purchase of the Full version states system requirements “ Video Studio must be installed on your PC” with no indication of Pro or Ultimate.
The Multi Cam Lite is provided with the programs installation files.

Download and installation of some plugins can be a little confusing.
Some software download and installation processes first creates a folder on the desktop.
It is from this folder that we can install the actual program / software, although I would / should expect an auto run. expect
The folder on the desktop is just the first part of the installation
Within that folder should be a “set-up.exe” or similar file to start the actual installation.
Can you try running the desktop folder content by double clicking the setup file.
If that returns an error that Video Studio cannot be found does it give a version 2019 etc

If it does not install then you should contact Corel Support.

I notice there is an offer at £7.99 a good offer if it installed ok, then I do not know what the full version gives compared to the Lite version

Oh.. have you tried running the MCC install as Administrator?

You should be posting in the Pinnacle forum since you have that program. This is the VideoStudio forum and I don;t think anyone here can help you

I just installed VideoStudio 2020Pro and got the exact same error message when trying to upgrade from MultiCam lite.

As canuck has stated you should post on the Pinnacle forum, however, I have PS23 Ultimate installed and it has MultiCam Lite installed, where did you see that the full version is provided, the specifications make no mention of the full version

Not True... VideoStudio Ultimate 2021 24.0.1.260 and Corel MultiCam Capture 1.2.5.489. I get the same message. Been tring to work with support but nobody can answer me about what is going on. I had VideoStudio Trial and tried to upgrade MultiCam with no luck. Saw your comment and decided to buy the Ultimate also still no luck. Seems to me Corel should figure this out because I'm losing money on this. The trial versions are great, works great, runs great. I only wanted to capture more than 2 cams.

The latest version of MultiCam Capture Lite is 1.2.7.638, not sure why you have an earlier version included with 24.0.1.260

That is what came up to installed when I clicked Upgrade from Trial software.
I just purchased the Ultimate today.

I did the work around. Pain in the butt but it works now....

Download and install VideoStudio Trial 2019, upgrade Multicam, install VideoStudio Ultimate 2021, uninstall VideoStudio Trial 2019.


I find it bad business when support can't figure out thier own program and give an answer before the consumer figures something out.

I do not understand how you installed the trial of 2019 nor why you would wish to install that.
The original post was back in 2019 (year) so a little old, but all references today should be for 2021.

Had I seen your post earlier I would have advised that you uninstall the 2021 trial, then download the Ultimate package in full to install and not up upgraded from the trial, Just personal preference and something I would do.

It is now 2021 bought and installed Videostudio ultimate 2021, impressed with MultiCam_Capture lite, was offered an upgrade through MultiCam_Capture lite, paid £14, tried to install MultiCam_Capture_1.2.5.489 getting the same message, uninstall reinstalled 3 times, been waiting over 16hours with a ticket to hear from someone who can help.

Sorry you are having these installation issue
Unfortunately we do not work for Corel so have no access to any purchases.
Your best option is to wait a while for Corel Support to reply
They will probably suggest that you reinstall Video Studio so you may wish to try that first.

I wonder if you need to uninstall the existing MCCL before installing the new version, just a thought.
