Mask creator, limited to 59 seconds only?

Hi,

I have a video this time a test video 1min and 8 seconds. I try to creat a box mask on copy that mask to all frames on the video. On mask creator there is a feature "Copy this frame to timeline according to timecode":

I got a big surprise when I noticed that I cannot perform that more than 59 seconds?? Is it only me having this limitation or does this appears for others as well? Is this somekind hidden lisence bug on VideoStudio as that seems to be a code from Ulead. Workaround is to split the video to 59s sets and having own mask set for each of them

Same here on my VS2018,
I can't set any timecode past 59 sec, on ~10min clip.

Please test it, maybe you could have a different behavior.

Do you think i did not test this before my reply?
I had no problems, the max duration was the same as the length of my clips, I tried several clips at different length, including one at 59 seconds.

Aah, sorry, I was not able to read that from your reply. I though you read this on mobile, where you were not able to test it.

But that would be interesting if that is working on you! What is your VS build? As I can see from earlier reply, someone else have the same problem already on VS2018. And unfortunately I found that the workaround (split video) does not work as I expected.

So I found also that splitting video does not solve this issue automatically. As you can see, I have here a video length: 1min and 10s. I have split the video to two from 1min 1s. But when I'm starting to create a mask for the second part, I get the following setup for me..

Basically the Mask Creator does not follow what I have done on VideoStudio. Instead of the clip start from the same moment where the split has been done, it is starting from beging of the clip
On other words this means: I'm unable to have mask created unless I actually create an additional video from the last part and then import that on the video track. Then the mask creator is working

I was using CVS 2019 Version 22.3.0.436
I doubt the version will have any impact on the mask creator but do Check for Updates to see if any are available.
I had just re-installed 2019, these tests being the first time I had used the program.
What type of clip are you using, it does look familiar maybe from Instant Projects.
More tests with no problems, the clock limits to the duration of the clips.
However using long clips and Video Studio goes Not Responding
Ok now I am also having problems with the 59 sec limit

No idea what I have done differently to earlier tests

Missed your previous post

I disagree, i used the sample SP-V11.wmv
I cut the clip at 2.5 ( timeline at 00:00:03:012)
selecting the second clip that starts at 2.5 ( 2 and a half) the mask started there not at the beginning 00:00:00:000

Yes, the behaviour what you see is correct, when you are using less than 59s clips

I was using also some of those clips included (SP-V03.mp4) and then I extended by slowing down so that I got 1min 10s clip. If you snip that after 59s (I did 1min 1s) and try to setup the mask now to the last part. I believe you agree, that is working wrong as well...?

And this is a bit interesting as VS does the masks for all frames on the clip. That you could found from here:
"%APPDATA%\ulead systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\22.0\mask
Except that mask files after 59s are all black.

That also brings me a problem, I believe VideoStudio does not clean those folders

I believe people do not even know such location. Files are not huge, but let say you feed (like I did) 32min file with 60fps. No need to wonder anymore why VideoStudio get into "not responding" mode for awhile. Regular users basically give up and kill the process, quite normal reaction? Like the complains after that: "VS is grabby".

But, I open the case to Corel support. Let see how to do they answer.

Ok now your comments explain a lot, now I realise how you achieved the 1 minute clip by changing the speed of the clip, then cutting the clip
Are there any other edits that you have applied before trying the Mask Creator
So your title needs amending to “Re: Mask creator, limited to 59 seconds only? When Speed / timelapse applied”
Can you run your tests without applying Speed Timelapse,

As for the 22.0 folder we know as the “reset folder” should be known by anyone saving a mask as the address shows when doing Save As
And yes the program does go Not Responding whilst it is processing in the background, something Corel needs to address, cannot the program do two things at once, multi task
When I view Task manager I can see that but if the CPU is being used I just wait, if its at “0” I end task.

Your image of the folder shows 20.0 does that mean you have X10 installed?

More tests seem to indicate the type of video file being used in particular the frame rate
MPEG-4 Files - 24 bits, 1280 x 720, 23.976 fps

I rendered the SP-V01 ( stretched to over 1 minute) to MPEG-4 Files-24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 23.976 fps-Frame-based
worked ok-- It does appear that the frame rate is the problem?

Mind you my next tests will probably disprove that.

I was 100% sure that the original video where I had the problem was not Timelapsed, but now when I tested *Buf!*
...it works as expected. The second part of the clip started on mask creator correctly. What a shame

But 59s is still issue.
I actually went a bit further (as support asked reset):
1. I installed one virtual Win10
2. Then I installed VS2019 evaluation edition into that.
3. Take one of those example files, extended the clip over 1min.
4. Render it to real mp4 file
5. Add the new mp4 file to timeline
6. And I'm still unable to set mask over 59s.

Not sure if you missed my last reply
Any video I tested using 23.976 fps were ok
All other video using 25,50, 29, 60 fps suffered the 59 second limit

Create a 23.976fps ( AKA 24fps) video and try that.
