Help needed with Dual Layer DVDs

Using MF4, I have installed the recent patch which supposedly adds support for the dual layer DVD drive by NEC - which is what I'm using.

I've now wasted three DVD+R DL discs trying to burn a 2 and a half hour video. At the point where, presumably, it begins to burn layer 2 I get an error message saying it cannot burn and suggests I reboot!

The disc type displayed when I start the burn is DVD+R DL, but after the error it says "unknown".

What do I need to do to get this working, I can't keep wasting money on discs that MF4 only recognises until it hits layer 2.

apply the latest patches and make sure DVD 8.5GB is set under the Preferences (or the drop downlist at the left end of the prj. size estimate)

Yep, done all that, but the disc still throws a wobbly half way through burning, I'm assuming when it reaches layer 2.

It just doesn't like dual layer discs, I wouldn't mind if I was using a rewrite disc, but I've wasted 3 once only discs trying to burn this project.

Oh well.

firmware upgrade perhaps?
