Re: Connecting an old Sony mini dv camcorder to Pro X2
Hi All
Update
Have now successfully captured a lot of v valuable family projects. I appreciate the native avi format is highest quality and happy to retain that on my external hard drive. However, some of the projects are quite long, large and it would be v useful for me to split into chapters and then use those to create a menu for convenience (just like I did all those years ago) The intention would then be to find a format to maintain the menu, when playing from external hard drive.
I've been creating video files from the project and then going into the final menu to create chapters and menu. Although I don't want to create DVDs, I've been burning new DVDs and then ripping from these to create ISOs. I appreciate this is a laborious process and inevitably reduces quality. However, it gives me an ISO with my beloved menus.
Is this an insane process?
Thanks

Hi Steve
I don’t quite understand why you should burn a DVD then rip the DVD to create the iso
From the burner module, final panel we can choose to Create a disc Image, if you do not see that option hit the “chevrons” the arrows to the right, that should show more of the panel.
The disc Image is a video ISO and can be played using VLC Media player to include menus.
So you do not have to burn a disc just to get the ISO.
Should you need a DVD you can then burn from the ISO, providing the iso is below 4.3 Gb to fit to disc and Video Studio has the Tools - Burn from Disc Image (ISO) option

Thanks. Didn’t see the video ISO option. It was that which was throwing me. Thanks
