Can't show image & text with boundscript button

I'm giving PSP 2020 a trial, and the first thing I want to try is customizing toolbars, etc given that one user posted that keeping saved workspaces showing was intermittent. I tried customize and bound an existing script to an icon, then dragged that to the menu bar next to the Image menu item where it only showed as text. I then right-clicked that text and the context menu showed a checkmark beside text (although it was greyed out) and both Image and Image & Text were also greyed out. So I clicked on the Button Appearance item. I was able to select the Image & Text radio button in the dialogue that opened, but the items in upper center of that dialogue (Use Default Image and Select User Defined Image) were both greyed out with the Select User Defined Image showing as the selected radio button and I couldn't change it to Default Image. And not only doesn't the image appear with the text, but once I close the Button Appearance dialogue the selection I made reverts back to text only. In PSP 2019 none of these items are greyed out and when I select Use Default Image both the image and text appear with that same boundscript.

Does anyone else have that issue, or am I missing something?

It works for me in PSP2020.

Once I added the bound script to the menu bar, I right-clicked on the text and selected Reset to Default and that gave me the icon only. I right-clicked again and this time selected button appearance, made sure icon and text were selected and clicked OK. This gave me icon and text.

This seems like a convoluted way to get your desired result but it worked.

And yes, image, text and image & text were grayed out for me too.

Well Kathy, it doesn't actually "work for you" the way it's supposed to or the way it works in PSP 2019, but it is a workaround that does make both image and text visible. But those three options are still greyed out in the first dialogue box, and in the Button Appearance dialogue both Image Only and Select User Defined image are greyed out, even after I am able to get the image and text showing together following your procedure. So it seems - to me at least - that there is still a glitch in the coding, making the workaround non-intuitive and, as you said, convoluted. But thanks for figuring out the workaround!

You're welcome and yes, it does seem rather glitchy.

What's interesting is I get the exact same behavior in PSP2019 and have to use the same workaround to get both icon and text.
