I don't have a problem with the popup adverts you refer to, I disabled them, however I do have a problem with embedded ads.
For example in Camera Raw I am presented with a pic of a horseand a price telling me to do more with raw and buy Aftershot pro3...I already have it! but if I accidentally mouse over it I get served an order page.
In PSP 2018 on brushes I get more picture ads advising to do more with brushes, I don't want to. again mouse over and bam...an order page. I can use the up arrow to hide it but again a mouse over and it's back. I find them annoying and distracting.
I've raised a support ticket, instant messaged them, but all I get is a stock reply on how to disable the pop up ads which I already have disabled. They do not seem to understand (or don't want to understand) the ads are EMBEDDED!
I'm another who will not be updating to a newer version unless this is addressed.

I too have Aftershot 3 Pro and the integration between that and PSP is a joke: ASP3 just sends a tiff file to PSP. PSP does not 'see' ASP at all.
With regards to pop-up and embedded ads - imagine a phone app from Corel with pop-ups and in-app purchases. Ugh!

After several messages to and from Corel, eventually by giving them a step by step instruction, I finally got them to understand that the problem was not a pop up.
Then I got this reply
Devi Shivakumar (Corel)

Mr. / Ms. Bob,
Thank you for waiting patiently.
Please be informed that it cant be changed.
Should you need anything else in the interim, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Next step was to see if 2020 still had the ads embedded, if not I would ask for a substantial discount. So I downloaded the free trial.
Upon installation I received the message "Trial period expired..please purchase a product key !!!!!!!!!".
