I have several clips I want to show in sequence in a movie; the highest res are the 4K ones, but I've got clips with VHS resolution, and others Blu-Ray, etc.
What I want is for those clips to show up as smaller rectangles, using the data to populate a 4K image, rather than having them 'blown up' to the full 4K screen size, with all the macro-pixellation that occurs. In other words, if a clip is at half 4K resolution, it ought to show up as 1/4 size (half vertical size, half horizontal size). That is I want the project resolution to apply to the clips without changing their resolution, without trying to make them bigger (maybe centering them would be enough).
I can't find any setting anywhere, either on a per-clip basis or for an overall project, to make this happen. I could individually work with each clip to try to map them to a 4K resolution, but I can't see even how to do *that*. Any advice would be most appreciated.

Re: Multiple resolutions question
Do you mean something like https://youtu.be/DwbuFH3A1s4?t=559 ? If so then use overlay tracks to add as many clips as you want on top of the 4K image on the video track.BryanBentz wrote:What I want is for those clips to show up as smaller rectangles, using the data to populate a 4K image, rather than having them 'blown up' to the full 4K screen size

Re: Multiple resolutions question
as tletter has said use the overlay tracks and size and place the resultant image to give the required effect - but you cannot change the resolution of the overlay tracks individually - you just set the PIP (picture in picture) to be a size which looks good onscreen
