I am using PSP 2019 Ultimate and I'm a newby to photo editing.
I am scanning a lot of old photographs and I want to automate the process as much as possible.
This is how I am doing it currently:
Place several images on the platten.
select file
select import from camera or scanner
select Ok ( from the Select Device window)
select Custom Settings (everything set to 600 dpi)
select preview
The preview runs, I select which image I want to scan and select scan.
The image scans and I save as a TIF
I tried recording a script but while the scanner window is open (at the preview stage), I cannot pause or stop the script recording.
I tried letting it run all the way through the selection and scan and then stop and save but nothing happens.
So, I have three questions.
1. Is there a script that does this?
2. What am I doing wrong?
3. When I get this thing working would it be possible for the script to pause after the preview stage, let me select the image I want then continue with the scan and automatically save as image-x.tif?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Automating scans
I managed to get a script saved by completing the whole sequence and saved it to Scripts-Restricted.
Now when I try to run it PSP shuts down.
Any ideas?
