LIST OF FAVORITES PATHS

Post by Proton »

When I am going to save a picture I have an option to click on a folder icon at the top which brings a list of folders that I can go to.

Image

Some of the folders have been deleted, I wondered how I get them off the list.

I can't click the remove button because you have to be in that folder to remove it and the folder is not there.

I have tried to left-click on it but that just tells me the folder is not there.

any help would be greatfull

I hope you realize that MS put that there simply as a labor-saving tool. In fact, you don't need it; using that is entirely optional.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

Why don't you make the folder again, if you have deleted it, remove it from the list, and then delete the folder.
You may have to delete from each list you have added it to first, before deleting it again e.g. Save, Save As etc.
Works for me.

I just now tried the Save As function in Win 10. If you are in a target folder, the Remove function becomes solid. If you are not there, you don't see the option. I suspect there is a place you can go to find these items in Regedit, but I would not know where. The simplest thing to do is go to each folder and remove it from there.

I have made a folder with the same name as the deleted one, When I click on the folder link it will take me there but the Remove function is still not highlighted
There has got to be somewhere to take it off the list but I just can't find it. :-(

Hi
It appears that folder is a “favourites file list” and I believe installed by PSP
You may have to modify the registry
Although I would have thought a register cleaner would have done the trick.

Ok open the registry editor and search for FavFileList
I found these entries
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\PaintShop Pro\X7\CmdFile\FileOpen\FavFileList
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\PaintShop Pro\X12\CmdFile\FileOpen\FavFileList

Yours should indicate PaintShop Pro\X9

I found a few that I had used as a test, view image below deleting the entries did remove them from the folder list.

I cannot stress more please take care when tweaking the registry.

Thank you, EVERYONE, for your help. In the end, I just uninstalled and then reinstalled PSP> Probably not the best solution be it seemed the easiest and it did the job :D
