video studio 2019 overlay question.

Post by deadpixel »

ok, not sure ifthe subject is correct.
Currently i am using a trial version, this is what i want to do, not sure if it works with the 2019 version.
In psp 2020 there is a option called photo blend, where u can load photo's and combine scenery as one element.
i wonder if video studio 2019 can do the same ,blend videos ,recorded on a fix point, in my case a 360 degree video, and blend in element of a seconds, or third ! video ,and combine it as one.

basically yes - but using video is not as easy as still images - would be ideal if the videos you want to blend in had a plain background because then you could put them in the overlay and apply Chroma Key (often referred to as Green Screen) and the background would vanish leaving only the main object

however if you want to pick just one item from within a bunch of others then you may have to learn how to use the video mask creator (part of Videostudio) to make a mask which moves as the object moves in the overlay video

if your blended objects have a plain background then this is the effect of using Chroma Key

well, the 360 camera is fixed position, becouse the camera is seeing all, on the the actor is changing position and does not cross path with the main actor
so the background is fixed.

but i guess video studio 2019 is difrent from X10 version ?

Yes of course 2019 is different to X10 that was just an old picture I used to demonstrate - you can use the same procedure in VS2019 which is why I just used the older photo if you couldn't do it in 2019 I would not of suggested it

But if showing an X10 photo confuses you - here is another image showing it done in VS2019

deadpixel, I don't recall any member here that work 360, so if you after specific option (in any NLE) you must continue looking for the right person.

Hi deadpixel

Video Studio works in a simular way to PSP.
Where psp uses layers, VS uses overlay tracks, effectively video or image clips are stacked together.
Psp views the layers from the top, so erasing part of the top layer will reveal the lower layer

VS can do the same but working from bottom to top
Erase part of the bottom overlay track reveals the track above.
We can do that by using the Mask Creator and as the backgrounds are identical the joins will be seamless

I assume you have a few recording taken with the same background, can you provide a screen shot (jpeg) of those recordings
that may help us understand a little better

Does the trial have the Mask Creator.?
