n00b layers question,

Post by deadpixel »

Well, first thanks for being here.
i am pretty new to psp2019 ,normaly i use jasc psp9, yes its a motballed version, but it served me long enough.
now, here is my question and problem, i am a 360 photografer, pure hobby, not profesionaly.
and i made some nice 360 stills for a cloning my self joke where i made several shots in difrent positions.
here comes my problem, i never was good with layers ,and even that i readed the helpfiles over and over again, i cant manage to combine the images i made in a single 360 shot
so, for those who is working with layers peanuts, what am i doing wrong.
i manage to fool it a but, but that was by selecting the cloned me version out and pasted it as a new layer image on the master image, personaly, to much work, and needed to watch on to many thing for not geting a wrong overlap.
so, help !, i am already hooked to psp2019 !

PaintShop Pro doesn't have a tool permitting to assemble different pictures in a 360° like panorama.
You may do that with the free Google application:

I quite agree with you, but my friend of 65 years is a professional videographer (still!) who dabbles in photography. He gladly pays the Adobe tax to use the latest versions. Face it, we duffers are not Adobe's primary audience. Professionals, who can take the cost off their taxes as a business expense, are.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

I gather that what you mean by 360 photographer is that you are trying to do a 360 degrees photograph - essentially a panorama that includes a 360 degrees of view all around the shooting point.

To get the panorama you need to make sure the images are taken at the same location with the same lens and exposure. There should also be some overlap so they can be alligned correctly

I have 4 images that each overlap each image is 800 x 533 pixels.
01images4.jpg
I need to prepare a new document to hold all those images so approx 3000 x 533 pixels.

1. Using untabbed documents (Window > make sure Tabbed Documents is unticked. Have the 4 images + the panorama document on the workspace.

2. Then making each of the 4 images active in turn drag the thumb image from the layers palette onto the large panorama document
02DragDrop.jpg
3. Corel tutorials suggest overlapping the images and changing the opacity of one so you can partially see the other beneath and then using the move tool to edge them into place. I prefer to change the blend mode of the higher image in the layers palette to Difference - then as you move and overlap the images when they are alligned the matching sections turn black. Once you have the top two layers aligned you will need to change the blend mode to Normal for that top layer , then change the second layer to Difference while you align layer 3 with layer 2.
03ImagestobeAligned.jpg
Use the Move tool to get the images to overlap

4. Then once alligned just merge all and crop the final image. You may need to clone the overlaps to get rid of the overlap lines where there might be slight differences in shading.

I have found that where images or parts of images are merged and have slightly different shadings or image information at the edges that create noticeable overlap lines, the easiest way to then get those lines to blend together smoothly is often to use the selection rectangle tool, make a selection that includes the line and overlaps the area on both sides of the line, and then use the Magic Fill button.

Hmm ,almost close, when i say 360, i realy do ment 360 sphereicals with a 360 camera.
making normal 360 panorama's i can do that with my phone, and editing is easy.
what i did with my 360 camera is making shots from the same place, but me standing in difrent poses, and those difrent poses i need to include in the master picture.
ok, i added 3 files what are in equirectangular projection, cutting out my self and pasting is works, but i want to merge them.
the merged file is the wanted outcome, but i used freehand selection, and pasted it as new selected, and used the mover to place it in the right position
