CVS 2019 will not work

Post by Phil47 »

As I wanted to upgrade my other Video Software and also wanted to upgrade my Corel PSP Photography Software I decided to take the offer of downloading CVS 2019 at a bargain price together with the PSP2020 software.

However, I am in a bit of a bind as it seems impossible to add any video to this CVS 2019 programme.
In CAPTURE and then the Import From Digital Media window there is already a URL there in for a file in my Photos folder and I can't remove or replace it.
If I click on Select Import Source Folders I can select a video folder but it will not replace the aforementioned Photo folder.
So I can't do anything with Corel Video Studio 2019.
Was there a catch with the bargain price?

And to add insult to injury I can't minimise the window or even close the window!

So now I have had to resort to asking for help please.
Tell the truth....but gently.

Phil.

As a first step, ensure that your VS 2019 is up to date.

I'd suggest that as a test, you restart VS then go to the EDIT tab. Once on the EDIT tab, use File Manager to drag and drop files onto tracks on the timeline. Does this allow you to add files?

You might also want to try going to C:\Users\[Your Name]\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64) and changing the name of the 22.0 folder to something like 22.0_OLD. Then restart VS. It will build a new 22.0 folder which hopefully will no longer have that preset Photos folder address showing inside it.

Hi Phil
Can you try importing your photos from the Edit tab and not the Capture tab

Right click the timelines for -insert photo-
Browse your hard drive for the image files

If using video the choose -insert video-

You can do the same from the library, then drag and drop to the timelines

Thanks everyone for your help.
I just revisited the project I want to create and managed to add the music track to the timeline in Edit.
I will now be adding photos as well hopefully.

Well I have finally added about 60 photos and added Fade to Black Transitions between all of them.
But I don't really want that - I want fade and merge transition between all the photos but can't see anything like that to use.
Also I want to stretch out the photos so that they match the backing track. How can I do that please?
A better alternative to that is to be able for the music to leave a marker where all the beats are and individually lengthen each photo so that they stop and start at that marker. How can I do these markers please?

I should add that I know how to do all this on my old copy of Powerdirector 14 but want to be able to do it here on the Corel VSP 2019.

Thanks,
Phil.
