Cursor Jumps Timeline in Editing

Post by CarolynsRVLife »

Is anyone else having issues with the cursor jumping to a different place on the timeline when you're adding, deleting or cutting clips in the Video or Overlay tracks ? For example: In the video track, I added a new video between two clips at timestamp 8:44, the clip was added to the timeline but the cursor jumped to a random place (always back) - in this case it was around the 4:00 mark. So then I have to scroll through to find my place in the timeline again to continue editing. It's a pain.
Also sometimes when adding an overlay instead of adding it where I drag it, it'll add it to the beginning instead. This has been happening since I installed VideoStudio 2019 months ago. So it's every video I make. Any ideas to make it stop?
Using VideoStudio Ultimate 2019.

Thanks.

Hi Carolyn
And welcome to the forums

1 / When I drag clips from the library to the top timeline the cursor always positions at the beginning of that clip.
2 / When I drag a clip from the library to any overlay track the clip is dropped in position, again the cursor positions to the left of the clip
3 / If I right click a library clip for Insert to Video track it will position to the end, right hand side of the top track
4 / If I right click a library clip for Insert to overlay track it will position adjacent / to the right of the last clip on the overlay track
5 / If this is the first clip to be added to the overlay track it will position at the beginning of the track

What version of Video Studio are you using?
The latest is 22.3.0.436 from Help – About ( Alt – H and A)

If you are not using this version you should check for updates to apply the latest patch, although i would opt to re-install which should download the latest installation files.
