Hello
I have about 50 photos from an event that I am trying to resize and rename. After using Batch... in the file menu, some of the images have come out very distorted. I have included a sample image as an attachment.
The two options I used during the Batch process was Resize and Rename.

Hi!
Sure thing I have attached a couple of screen shots as I am going through the process.
Aspect Ratio is locked, as far as I can tell and I have the Output folder to Original and Rename to Sequence.

Re: Batch Resize Distorts Images
PSP Batch process and using resize , is a clunky process. I don't have PSP 2020 so don't know if they fixed it there.
1. You must load one of your images first , then do Image > Resize and set up the dimensions and make sure the Maintain Aspect ratio is clicked.
BUT
This will only work for the images with the same format ie if you use Landscape mode then all landscape shots will be resizes but Portrait ones will be distorted .
If you use a Portrait one to set up then all portrait images will work correctly but Landscape ones will be distorted as in your post.
Corel needs Image resize settings that allow Set longest side to a value or shortest side to a value. PSP is clunky in this way. I think there are scripts that can be used to do it all correctly - batch process using a script.
This is why I use Irfanview a free program for most of these fast processing - renaming, changing size and other features.
You can see my settings here:

Another thing I do also is to have a special folder on my desktop called ZZZZZworking
the ZZZZ mak it easier to find in a navigation search, and avoids the mistake of overwriting your original images.

I see your images don't have the same aspect ratio.GStrydom wrote: Aspect Ratio is locked,
As Hartpaul says, the process is limited. IMHO, you need to process together images having the same aspect ratio.

Re: Batch Resize Distorts Images
It's because you set both the width and the height.
Resize has a method, you can see it as an option in the screen shot called "based on one side" use that instead and choose the long side and set the maximum you want the long side to be. It will calculate the short side maintaining the aspect ratio.

Re: Batch Resize Distorts Images
Hi GStrydom
On the re-size window is an option for Based on One Side, there is also By Percentage
Both of these should batch re-size Portrait and Landscape retaining their aspect ratio.
I tested “Based on one side” and it worked well
