CVS 2019

Post by newfielander »

HI , i downloaded and installed CVS Pro 2019, and attempted to complete a project. So began by adding video files from my Panasonic camcorder, (I have done this before with other versions) but this time when i add them and click play, i have no audio. Is this because its the trial version? I did notice that MOV files worked fine, but not mp4 of AVCHD or m2t.
Thanks for your help

It could indeed be because it is the trial version, which is severely crippled.

However, if your camera films with Dolby audio or in surround sound (i.e. 5.1), this could also be the problem since for some strange reason Corel are no longer allowing surround sound, only dual channel stereo, and no Dolby at all for Win 7 users.

ok Thanks Ken, but you would think there be some warning of this concerning no sound on certain files in the trial version stating what isn't included. I'm using Windows 10. I guess i will have to make a call to Corel before buying.

I agree -- though Corel has never, as far as I am aware, listed what does not work in trial versions. And the list seems to vary with each version.

When i add a file to the timeline and split/separate the audio from the video and click only the audio it works fine. But when I try and play both at the same time, the video plays fine but there is no sound

Do not highlight the video or audio tracks, then your video will play with audio, remember you have split the audio from the video, so if highlighted, the video will play muted, because it has no audio attached

RobertOZ thanks for you reply, I do know that normally thats how it works, but i was just making the point that i have audio when i separate the audio track from the video. But leave the audio attached to the video and as you say "not highlight the video or audio tracks" i have no sound.
