Hi toddalex4
And welcome to the forums
Good to know that the hotfix worked for you
Can I ask that you report your crashes to Corel Support just to make sure they are aware that the crashes are still a problem

toddalex4, I had a rendering crash issue last year and finally figured out that an audio filter was the cause. Have you tried removing all audio effects at in and around the crash section of your video and re-rendering?

What would you have on your computer that could be compromised, I have Avast Premium Security, which takes care of all my security needs, it blocks just about everthing
With computers there are two topics related to security:
- what do you have on computer
- who owns the computer you are using

When you are on the net with unpatched computers your risks to lose your ownership to computer is much higher than with patched device. I believe you are well aware of botnets.

Avast is good, but like others, zero day vulnerabilities are well known problems. Eg. sharing .dll’s like this way on this forum in my mind is problematic way for Corel. They really should do everything to avoid this.

So my advice is still, take care of your devices and parch them.

Even we all know, there are tons of WinXP devices still turn on :)

@MindFlareRetro,
I CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!
Normalizing audio is 100% the issue (to this crash at least)
I literally ran into the same exact problem that you did yesterday. I had been working on a Youtube project for the better part of two weeks now, I was putting the final touches on it (which included normalizing the audio for two of my clips) and then when I went to open the project again it would give me an error message saying "Failed to Open Document".
I literally spent the majority of my Easter Sunday (sad I know) trying to get it unlocked and TRIED EVERYTHING, or at least so I thought.
Then I stumbled onto your post, what a complete lifesaver.
This has been my first time using Corel but I can guarantee it will be my last as I simply can't rely upon it and the support team was not very responsive.
But again THANK YOU soooooo much, I'm beyond grateful!
