I have been tryin to render a handful of videos which are from various virbs / gopros and are at different aspect ratios than those on the dropdown lists for the project properties. I've tried adding new profiles to them, as I'd like to encode as either mp4 or avchd. With the Ulead encoder, it does not allow me to specify a custom aspect ratio or resolution.
What is even more frustrating is that when I add a clip that is 1920x1440 and try to rotate it 90degrees I cannot then change my project aspect ratio without it clipping my video. The Ulead encoder also will not allow me to add the 1440x1920 vertical video resolution as a profile for mp4 or avchd video. I'd like to render this video without the black bars... I managed to convince it to do it with avi, but the quality came out severely reduced. I have a feeling I may just be doing something wrong here, so could anyone point me in the right direction, please?
One of the other challenges I'm having is rendering to mp4 at all on a separate computer. My desktop can do mp4 all day long- but my laptop just pukes after 20-60% saying the program has crashed and needs to close. Several differences exist- but I think my laptop being a newer install of Windows may be the culprit. Desktop is AMD / Radeon, laptop is Intel / Nvidia- go figure, exact opposite of where you'd expect a problem =0p
