Hi everyone,
Is it possible to install, open, and use EPS or AI Files in PSP 2018? If so what is the procedure?
I've downloaded some and thought I'd better ask before I spend too much time experimenting.

Re: Vector Files
PSP will attempt to convert EPS files into a raster image. So yes they can be opened, but they will not be vectors.
The only vector formats PSP supports as vectors are EMF, WMF, and PSPImage. Technically it also supports one format from PhotoImpact but I don't remember what it is.

Re: Vector Files
I've always found this interesting. Since PSP 7, I have noticed (this might also have been true for PSP 5, but I never noticed) PSP has been able to create vector objects. Yet it cannot import vector images or objects. How come?LeviFiction wrote:PSP will attempt to convert EPS files into a raster image. So yes they can be opened, but they will not be vectors.

BTW -- one can open vector images in Inkscape, which is open source and available free on the web. One can then set an object's size and export that as a PNG. PSP will edit a PNG file easily. This works. I know because I used to finish vector objects in PSP7, using Inkscape as an inermediary.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

Re: Vector Files
Thanks for the info. I'm hoping it will give me a prompt. I don't mind if they are raster.LeviFiction wrote:PSP will attempt to convert EPS files into a raster image. So yes they can be opened, but they will not be vectors.
If that doesn't work I'll look at Inkscape.
Agreed, ehume, I thought that since PSP creates Vectors that it would open them. Silly me!
