Using Mask Creator - is there a better tutorial?

Post by Davidk »

In my next class project, using mask creator has been suggested, and as usual the tutor is barely ahead of the students . . . .
But while the Corel tutorial on this feature covers several examples of what it can do/does, it has very little detail on how to do any specific one. As usual, experimentation is the order of the day, however the first results of that were pretty dreadful.

What I have in mind is a simple video-in-video use, with say an ellipse mask and some filters applied to the video being masked. In general, not a whole lot different from the 'advanced motion' feature I've used for years, and am wondering if all the effort to create a mask is really worth it.

Does anyone have experience using the mask creator feature and know of a more "instructional" tutorial??

David,

The only comprehensive guide to Mask Creation that I have seen is from StudioBackLot, when I installed PS23 I was given a 10 day free access to all their tutorials, so I took the opportunity to watch /record some of them and Mask Creation was one of them, but decided that I would not take up the offer to become a member, as many tutorials have not been updated for a number of versions

I was afraid of that - that there isn't much experience with usage of the feature - apparently much experimenting needed.
