Paint shop pro 2020 colour replacer tool

Post by Debsym62 »

I am using windows 10 and paintshop pro 2020 and I can't seem to get the colour replacer tool to work. I hold down ctrl then right click but when I try to apply the new colour it does not work. I have tried something really simple like black to red but it will not work. I have placed with tolerances and it will sometime change white pixels but not the ones I want. It does not seem to work like on the tutorials.

In Materials Palette, place in Background color the color you want to replace.
Place in Foreground color the target color.
Use the Color Replacer tool to "paint" on the color you want to replace.

thanks for that but it is not working for me in 2020, I have an older version on my PC and swapped back to that and it did work so there is something about this version that is not working. I will keep the old version on my PC until I can see what happens.

If you have the disk space, there is no penalty for having older versions of PSP. There is no need to ditch any. I have a whole subdirectory devoted to shortcuts to older versions of PSP.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

You can try resetting the Color Replacer tool. Click on the tool and then click on the Presets on the left side of the toolbar. Next click on the reset arrow as shown below.

If that doesn't take care of the issue you can try resetting PSP to default. Here are the instructions. They reference X6 but work for all versions.

PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed
