Hi MUSICMAN141002
2019 --- I have suffered silent crashes since the release of the program although I started serious editing in late May using MTS from a Panasonic 900 camcorder.
The crashes made the program very difficult to use.
Loading a lot of clips to the library usually causes the program to go Not Responding, task manager to end task. ( just tried that ) however given time it does recover.
I reverted to 2018 which was an improvement in that there were less crashes, I reverted to X10 which works ok
Then Corel released a Service Patch for 2019, so not giving up I used 2019 again only to find the crashes had not been fixed.
Back to X10
I have re-installed 2019 many times running different versions of the program (with and without updates)
If there is gonna be another Service Patch it is well overdue.
Beta testing for the next version is due to start, a little late, maybe they are working on a patch for 2019
Corel are looking for testers as this post refers, on the PSP forum but I imagine will apply to Video Studio

Re: Frequent Crashes 2019
I purchased this program a few days ago. I wanted a decent program to create slideshows from my photographs. However, I am experiencing the same crash problems, especially when clicking on a transition, it will freeze for a couple of seconds and then close. Have tried a reinstall but makes no difference. I had hoped that after watching all their sales pitch I would have a good program, but not the case. Disappointed!

Re: Frequent Crashes 2019
Hi Ray Art
Although I have had problems in editing my video files I have not had a crash in creating Slide Shows
Over the past week I have worked on 4 slide shows, of course only short with a total run time at about 15 minutes
Adding transitions was no problem
I also used Fast Flick to create a few different effects to complete editing using Video Studio, again no problems.
I have rendered to several formats Mov Mts and MP4 with no problems
To day I rendered to Mpeg2 to burn a DVD Disc, again no issues.
However the silent closure is as you describe, stall for a few seconds before doing its disappearing act.
I assume your images are jpeg?

Re: Frequent Crashes 2019
Just a short while ago in September, in response to users complaining about VS 2018 and 2019 crashing, you stated "I do not seem to have a problem using 2018 or 2019" (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=66050#p372406). However, you're now saying that "I have suffered silent crashes since the release of the program". This is strange. In any event, the silent crashing issue has been around since X10 (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=62625).lata wrote:I have suffered silent crashes since the release of the program
VideoStudio isn't currently mentioned on this website page (see image). tletterlata wrote:Corel are looking for testers as this post refers, on the PSP forum but I imagine will apply to Video Studio

Re: Frequent Crashes 2019
Hi tletter
Sorry if that caused some confusion, the post I replied to was a specific reply to Pepi involving rendering and the program overwriting an existing file not the silent crashes.
Beta testing
I agree for beta testing Video Studio does not show in the documentation, but I assure you when I log into the beta reporting forums for Video Studio I see the option for me to Join the Community, as this link
https://corelbeta.centercode.com/welcome/ here there is no mention of any Corel programs.
I don’t see it’s a problem, if you want to give beta testing a go then follow the link and if they don’t need Video Studio people they wont take you on.

Re: Frequent Crashes 2019
Hello VS 2019 Users,
Just to inform you that I have received a full refund for the software which I will no longer use. There are other alternatives on the market - some cheaper, some dearer - which do the job efficiently without freezing and crashing.
A tip for those of you still using it and having problems:-
Divide your project into sections and render into 3-minute mp4's. Then introduce these mp4's back into the timeline when you have rendered all the sections and do any video/audio FX splicing. It works so much better.
Regards to all.
