Hello all!
I have been using Paintshop Pro 2020 Ultimate for a few days now and am enjoying it quite a bit. The only thing I am not sure of is how to place/embed an image. Such as Photoshops Place Embedded / Place Linked feature. I apologize if this is simple or has been asked before but I cannot seem to find out how to do this in Paintshop Pro.
The only way I have been able to place an image is to first open the image file I want to place, copy it, and then paste it into the document I want to place it into. It works well enough but I was just wondering if there is not a quicker/easier way to do this.
Thank you for any help regarding this!

Re: Embedded / Place Image
Load two images (documents) into the workspace. eg A and B
Make sure that you are using untabbed documents Window > Tabbed Documents - untick if ticked
You should now see the two documents side by side / overlapping in the workspace.
Make sure your layers palette is available View > Palettes > Layers - shortcut F8
(You can also make sure your Organiser is visible at the bottom - shortcut Shift F9
Now you can place one image as a new layer in another image in a number of ways.
1. Make image B active by clicking on the image then do Edit > Copy folllowed by make Image A active and then do Edit > Paste as new layer which is what you have described you have done.
2. Make image B active Right click and Copy, make A active and Right Click Paste as New Layer. which iis a little faster.
3. Make image B active then drag the layer thumb from the layer palette and drop it onto image A -- which is faster still.
4. If you have image B active then you can drag the thumb from the organiser onto the layers palette and the image will be copied there as a new layer. In this case you do not need to load both images into the workspace - one is sufficient and then use the Organiser to navigate to the image you want to copy paste.

Re: Embedded / Place Image
Thank you so much!
I never even knew this was possible
This will definitely be my preferred way of working with multiple images from now on. I can see this being very handy when working with groups of images related to a certain project.
Thanks again for the help.
