moving a part ......

Post by steve76 »

Hi,

I need to "select" a complete part ( all tracks between 3min50s and 15min 50s ) and to move it like it is... ( synchronization is fine, so no need to modify it) after a chapter xxx , and place these 12 min at 20 min later for instance. In other words, I need to select this 12 min and "drag and drop" to be seen at the end of the Video for instance...

I saw recently how to use the "ripple editing"... and insert data after moving away everything of 10 min for instance. but I am not sure that ripple edition will allow me to select a part and to move this part.....

Thanks for your help

Hi Steve

How easy that is depends on the complexity of your project, I do not know of an easy way to do this
Shift + Click will select adjacent clips, dragging them down the timelines may work but it really depends on the project layout.
You mention a section at 12 minutes starting at 3 min 50 but how long is your project?
You could use the Project Preview range which shows as an orange line across the timelines, some info on Preview range, scroll down page a little (http://lata.me.uk/corel/trimbar/trim_bar.htm)
Then render that section to a video file.
You could do that with all your sections, then you can place the new video in any order.

Another option would be to create a new VSP of the sections, I assume you have 3 sections
From start to 3:50, from 3:50 to 15:50, and from 15:50 to end
If you save the project giving it a new name (start) then delete all from 3:50 to end.
Save the project as “start” that’s the easy one.
Return to original and save as “middle”,
Delete all from 15:50 to end, you may have to use Ripple Editing to delete from start to 3:50
Save project as middle.
Do the same for Ending, apply ripple editing then delete all from start to 15:50
Now you have 3 VSP’s
Import those to the library, dragging them to the timelines, hold shift to drop as a single clip.

Hi lala,

I start to see how to add several projects together.. that sounds to be OK now..
Now, just one question on what you said previously.... How to do that if you want to cut everything between [ 3 min and 12 min ] ?

Saying that, this is not only the Video track only... ( for that I should be able to do it ) but this is ANY tracks ( Video, Overlay, Title, Voice, etc..... ) between 3 min and 12 min
Is there a trick for that one go ??

Thanks again for your help
