Can't Find Ultimate Script Bundle

Post by reg8777 »

Hello

I recently purchased the Ultimate Script Bundle and I have tried all of the suggestions by the support group as well as those I saw on this forum...still no luck! :)

Is there anyone out there that had the same problem and was successful in correcting the issue? If not how do I go about receiving a refund ?

I appreciate any help you can offer. i was really looking forward to using the scripts and I am very disappointed that my first purchase was a total bust.
Thank You
Regina

Okay, gonna need more information.

1) Did you download the installer?

2) Did the installer run and claim the successful installation of the scripts?

Not to insult your knowledge here but I need to make sure we're all on the same page.

If the scrips installed properly they'll appear in the Script toolbar. View -> Toolbars -> Script. On the script tool-bar there is a drop-down for selecting the scripts. You'll look for one called "Dragan Effect" to prove the scripts have been installed in the appropriate location.

If the scripts installed but they don't appear on the script toolbar that means they exist somewhere else. In which case you can do a full harddrive search for Dragan_Effect.pspscript to see where they put the scripts (the one script I know the name of). Once you have the location you can move them to your personal scrips folder, or add the location to your file locations inside PSP. Whichever you prefer. Yes, technically a full harddrive search would take forever but you can focus the search in Program Files, Program Files (X86), Just the Corel folder in either of those two folders or in the C:\ProgramData folder.

PSP should be installing in the program files folder for PSP. So C:\Program Files\ Corel\ Corel Paint Shop Pro 2020 (or whatever version you're using)\ Languages \ EN\ Scripts-Restricted\ etc. It may even install it in a folder for a version you don't use. Or it may install it in c:\ProgramData\.

You can also try an install monitor to actually track what the installer is doing. I personally tried using Process Monitor from SysInternals and it kind of worked, though it wasn't as intuitive as I would have liked. I had to know exactly what I was looking for.

Hi,

I'm having the same trouble. Bought 3 scripts, downloaded and installed but not showing on scrips list. A free script which I downloaded and installed at the same time is fine. I have performed a full search of my PC, and the only things found were the downloaded install files. I'm banging my head agains a brick wall and the support staff are no help.

Have you found an answer to this yet?

Hi all, not sure what has happened to Andy's problem in the meanwhile but I am running into the same situation. However I can provide a few more details.
After installation of PSP 2020 Ultimate I bought the Mega Script Bundle, the split toning bundle and two more. Installing them via "my library" or as an downloaded *.exe both does not work, because:
I am receiving various error messages during installation. One is "error 5", no right to access.Same happened on an 8 years old notebook with Win 7 64 and on a brand new hp Gen 8 laptop with Win 10, where I installed PSP as the first own application. Same problems.
What does that mean I would not have the right to access some folder on my own non-shared non-enterprise computer? My account got admin privileges.

This issue in the meanwhile goes back and forth between the Corel folks and I, but still didn't receive any breaking hint. It seems to be a licensing issue or an issue with installation folders with limited access rights.

Anyone encountering similar stuff? Or even a solution? Thanks for letting me know. Further questions welcome. Would like to have that fixed.
(And yes, wasn't able to scan through all posts up to now - might have overseen that one with the right answer. )

Addition #1: Oh yes, I've used several methods of searching for freshly installed stuff on my harddrive. Nothing! Not the relevant folders, not others, nothing newly created, nothing with extension *.pspscpt, nothing erased since, just no trace.

I haven't installed any scripts in a long time, the first question is do the installers prompt you for permission to run with admin privileges? Keep in mind starting with Windows 7 even admin accounts run as regular accounts by default as a security feature. You have to specifically grant admin privileges to a running program. If the program doesn't ask for permission and you have access to the EXE installer have you tried right-clicking the installer and choosing Run As Administrator?

LeviFiction, thanks for your thoughts and your reply.
Yes, I think I did that all: Assigned higher access rights to my standard account, used the admin account, even created a ADMIN account and a CorelTest account, hijacked folders and full assigned access rights, ran executables as admin and combined many of these things. No success, not on the Win 7 not on the Win 10 machine.
Whether anything would ask for the privileges or not? No. But I captured the error windows a few times and there were the error 5 (access denied) and some other not allowed message (which I'd have to look up).
Yes, I did all that.
I could send one of my exes to someone to see whether it would run on a different setup, in a different environment.

Once again thanks, any further idea welcome.

Sharing the EXE would technically be theft. :D

Do you have your UAC turned off? Once upon a time after Vista people constantly recommended turning the UAC off and that same mentality snuck into Windows 7, 8, and 10. I never recommend turning the UAC off, just curious if you have.

Have you tried turning on Windows Installer logging? You can try turning on logging for Windows installer: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/hel ... er-logging

That article has you create a registry key that turns on logging, When logging is turned on, run the installer. Once the installer has run and finished you can delete the registry key. It will have put a file in your Temp directory C:\users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Temp

It's named randomly but it'll look like MSI*****.LOG

Where the Asterisks are any random characters. When you find it the file might be quite large but if you could share that file, maybe we'll get a picture of what's going on.

As an example: I don't buy scripts myself, I always feel ripped off once I see how they're done. xD But I have bought two scripts before. A free one called the Purple Tint script, and the Selective Color script Bundle (I made a free version of this one that works better). The Purple Tint script installs just fine. But the Selective Color script bundle doesn't. So I turned on logging, and found that the stupid script looked for every version of PSP up to 2019. But not 2020. So that's why it wasn't installing for me, didn't give an error. Just failed to install properly. In fact it created a new folder in the C drive called Languages

C:\Languages\EN\Scripts-Restricted\SelectiveColor\

Didn't put any files in there, but did create the folders because it didn't know where else to put them. I'm thinking your answers might be found in just such a log.

Just installed that script bundle with no problems.
The Install function from the Get More page downloaded the bundle to

C:\Users\*UserName*\AppData\Local\Temp\29068b8c\MegascriptBundle.exe

The scripts were all installed in this folder

C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2020\Languages\EN\Scripts-Restricted

They looked like this:
sscriptslist.jpg
C:\Program Files (x86)\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2020\Languages\EN\Scripts-Restricted

and increased my scripts from 76 to 168.
It also created another folder and link to that in file locations

C:\Users\Paul\Documents\Corel PaintShop Pro\Purchased\Scripts-Restricted

And all the sub folders in there were empty.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

Gents, I do appreciate your support, really!

Well, I just checked first the folders that you, hartpaul, indicated. No, nothing like that. Well, the folders exist but the content is only the basic type. Thanks anyways.

Then levifiction, I convinced windows to log as described in your suggested article, just ran some random installation and got the first MSI***.log. Now I will dive in deeper, select the right settings for installer logger and then start analyzing the logs. (BTW: I ran the installation for the Mega Script bundle with a) no PSP application installed which I flushed EOW to start over freshly, b) almost all logging flags set and so the logger spit out a log of almost 4MB. Guess I need to find the important settings first :).

Here the state of UAC: No, I did not disable UAC but I set it to lowest. I might also try completely disabling UAC manually for the time of the installations.
And yes, that Purple Tint I downloaded as well and it installed correctly.
And guess what: I got also an empty folder Languages on my drive C: even if the packages' names sub-folders have not been created.
I'll check for errors in the log files once a representative has been created.

Getting closer, hopefully?!?! Good hints in any case!! I'm so curious....
Ok, That will keep me busy for a while. I'll let you cracks know how that went.
Danny

Edit more than a year later: Couldn't fix it and didn't find more than was installed by clicking around. Than I ran the "retrieve my orders". That did actually a lot more even though I still didn't fin all I thought I bought. But the ... see my post end of '21.

Just bought PaintShop Pro 2022 with the free Ultimate Script Bundle. Installed. Can't find the Ultimate Bundle Scripts. Please can you let me know what scripts are included in this bundle so I can try and find them. Thanks. Peter

Pjago, actually that was the same for me, recently. Bought PSP 2022 and the scripts did not appear. But I found out the following:
1st thing i did was to "restore orders" in the "Home" screen after start-up and there the "help" menue. That did already install quite a lot. But the magic for the rest was to filter for "My Library". That shows all scripts that you bought. Whenever you select any one of the scripts (that is not yet installed) it offers you an "Install" button.
Hope that this is going to work for you too.

Can you please describe your exact issue? It may be similar but where it starts is important. Did you a) Buy the Ultimate version of PSP and get the Script Bundle as an add-on? Or 2) Did you buy the script-bundle form the store inside PSP?
