Showing/using 2019 video template bundle issues????
As part of the Corel 2019 home page, get more, down at the bottom of the list there are 3 video bundles, all free, many of them project templates. I decided that I'd get them and did: the download saved to folders on the desktop for all 3. I moved those folders to the disk locations I wanted, and then the issue is, how do they install and be usable in VS2019? Some issues with that . . .
1. Only bundle 1 has an install executable (VS_bonus.exe) - run that, specify the location etc, all works. Bundles 2 and 3 - no such thing as an install executable in the downloads.
And opening VS after installing bundle 1 - in the project templates area, no apparent change in icons - there were supposed to be new ones. where are they?
2. bundles 2 and 3 have no means of installing/getting VS to recognise them. Again, how to connect them to VS????
All of the files in these bundles have properties that say the file has a description of "Setup launcher Unicode". A screenshot of bundle 1 content is Can anyone clarify just how these additions are supposed to be installed to VS and be usable??
Right now, they seem to be as clear as mud to even a moderately experienced user, let alone a newbie.

Re: Showing/using 2019 video template bundle issues????
If you have previously downloaded and installed those 100 plus templates into earlier versions of VS, remember, when the GET MORE tab was actually inside VS, so they automatically installed into the correct location when downloaded, in which case you can just copy them into VS2019.
As far as I am aware, when those 3 packages have been downloaded they should self install, not my experience though, when I downloaded them in VS 2018/2019, not only did they not install, I had no idea where they had been downloaded to, certainly not a folder on the desktop, or anywhere where I could locate them, fortunately all I had to do was Import from Previous Library, or some words like that, when the Instant Project folder was 1st opened.
If you do not have them installed in previous versions, the only way that I can find to open them is one at a time, by opening a project folder, then double clicking the vsp file, that project then opens in VS, then you need to go to File/Export as a Template and select Instant Project Template and do that for every single one of them.
Has anyone found an easier way

If you notice - each of the files in that folder are .exe files - I just double clicked each one individually and they installed themselves to the correct location and I now have them available in VS - I just did that from the desktop where the bonus files downloaded to

Mine are not .exe files, maybe because the were downloaded in an earlier version of VS and self installed

Re: Showing/using 2019 video template bundle issues????
Hi Guys
As far as I know all exe files do install correctly with the exception of the Graphics pack DoMore_Title_01.exe, 01.exe etc these install to XVSX10, the files are Titles and Font packs and just to confuse have similar names.
In addition the DVD Menu Packs (DoMore_Menu_01.exe and 02 ) are no longer provided, not sure if that is by design or an oversight
Of course all above issues have been bugged via centercode, several times since X10.
Installing the packs.
In Bundle 1, the VS_Bonus.exe provides us with Video, Images and Audio samples these are saved to here:-
C:\Users\Trevor\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\Bonus Content
We have to import these to the media library to use in the program
Bundle 1,2 and 3
All remaining files are Instant Projects packs being installed to :-
C:\Users\Trevor\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\VSPTemplate
Any packs populating this folder should be available via the Instant Projects Library.
Graphics pack
As mentioned above the DoMore_Title_01.exe do not install to 2019.
All other files BG01.exe etc. are packs of images, jpegs, gif, png types
When installed are saved to :-
C:\Users\Trevor\Documents\Corel VideoStudio Pro\VSPContent\Decoration
There may be other sub folders?
Any files populating these folders should be available from the graphics Library, the little flower icon
BG01.EXE = Backgrounds
CP01.exe = Colours
FR01.exe = Frames
OB01.exe = Objects
Each file as far as I can see installs about 5 individual clips.
I think that’s about it………..
Oh as they install to the documents folder structure are available for all versions of Video Studio, I think?
And no there is no easy way
1 / download the packs ( self extracting exe files)
2 / running those extract the contents as individual exe files
3 / run each of these in turn to install

Robert - if you look at the attachment in Davids post above you will see that when downloaded they are all individual .exe files (no folders) - after you have run them they appear in the VSPT folder as folders as shown in your attachment and then appear in the Instant projects library inside VS - if they are new then when starting VS you will get a message about updating the projects library - followed by some importing indications onscreen
Re your comment about not knowing where to find downloaded files - on my computers opening File Explorer shows in the 'Instant Access' area at the bottom the latest files I have opened and downloaded and where they are located on my computer - in my image below I have just downloaded the PDF file and can see where it went
Also in most browsers - certainly in Chrome and IE you can turn on the setting to "ask for location when downloading" - with that on you tell the download where to go - so you always know anyway

Re: Showing/using 2019 video template bundle issues????
In terms of usability, Corel seems to have screwed it up again with these bundles. I note the events trevor recounts regarding the graphic pack - every item in it is no where to be seen in 2019, even tho it's for that version.
But sticking with the template bundles . . . .
There was time with prior versions, when you downloaded and installed (one action) a get more package, one trip thru the installer/user agreement etc and all the extras were picked up by VS the next time it started. Now it seems that each one has to be individually installed (for these 3 bundles, 80 files), meaning that many excursions thru the installer routine, and then they are in the Vs library. For example (I only tested this once) in bundle once there is an item 013_HD-Project.exe. Double click that, go thru the windows installer, click the user agreement etc and it's installed in the user path, along with all the other project templates, and when VS is re-started, it's in the project templates library, custom section. Some screenshots of this sequence
1. the content of bundle 1 2. After execution of the template file, content of the user folder where templates are stored 3. and what it looks like in VS after re-start And after all that, for just one file, there isn't even a rudimentary thumbnail image from which to judge the applicability of that template, just common flower image
Why would I want to go thru the install process 80 times??? Contemplating just throwing it all out. Very unfriendly behaviour.

Re: Showing/using 2019 video template bundle issues????
Hi
Nothing has changed in downloading and installing the Do-More templates other than Corel have now allowed us to download the entire package as 4 separate self extracting .exe files.
A few years ago we accessed the Corel Do More Templates – select one template to download and install that, and if we wanted another we downloaded another, Each template was downloaded and installed individually and that has not changed.
The problem is recognising what is available, unfortunately we are in the dark, have to install to find we don’t like the template then delete, what a waste of time.
It would have been good if we could preview the effect on line to decide which template we wanted.
And yep the thumbnails don’t help, but we could replace the BMP at least for the templates we wish to use.
When I download a lot of templates I first rename the VSPTemplate to VSPTemplate_old
A new folder will be created when installing the first template.
Installing a lot of templates will populate the new folder and when I have had enough I rename that folder to VSPTemplate_new
And VSPTemplate_old back to VSPTemplate
Now I can run Video Studio without adding any templates however I can open the new templates from the VSPTemplate_new using the VSP file, I can view the content and when I like one I simply move the template folder to the VSPTemplate to populate the IP library.
At least i dont populate the library with loads if templates that i have no intention of using
Clear as mud.

Re: Showing/using 2019 video template bundle issues????
David is not talking about downloading the standard 'Do More' templates Trevor - we are talking in this post about three free video template packages which were made available to members at the launch of VS2019 - these are ALL Instant project templates and at least three of us (me, David and Robert ) and possibly many more have downloaded them - and what all three of us received was three folders full of .exe files - only one of them - Video Template Bundle 1 - appears to have a 'VS_Bonus.exe' file which when run seems to install something - but cannot see what - I still had to run the .exe files individually in that folder to get them to install but there is no Bonus.exe file in Video Template Bundle 2 or Video Template 3 and it seems that each of the 24 or so files in those folders have to be run one at a time to install them - which is what David is complaining about and which complaint I fully understand and agree with

Re: Showing/using 2019 video template bundle issues????
Hi BJC
In the old days each template was available from the Corel Guide – Do More – Templates / Graphics, downloaded and installed one at a time, as X10
As of 2018 Corel made those files available via 3 Templates packs and one Graphics pack available via the programs welcome screen, now called Get More, apologies if I use the old description Do-More
These are/were downloaded as a single self extracting .exe files one for each pack.
Running these would extract the contents as multiple .exe files, a lot 30 or so for each pack
You seem to indicate that these are now available to download so don’t need the originals as (VideoTemplateBundle2.exe)
Even so we are left with 115 individual .exe files each needing to be installed
It would be better if Corel provided the folders as a zip file rather than the .exe files
I have uploaded those templates to my One Drive.
If you wish to download these packs please PM with a request for the Download Link
The Bonus Pack as my earlier reply

Well all the info online for these packs is incorrect then - or at least deficient in info - because no where does it mention anything at all about any content other than Instant Templates

Sorry but I do not have 2018 or 2019 installed at the moment as am backing up my C Drive
But I am sure there is a Graphics pack as a free download, have a look about, may not be next to the others
I am at the moment installing 2018 and will check
Edit Post
If you have already downloaded the Graphics Pack it should show in the My Library section, Filtered by to the right.

Re: Showing/using 2019 video template bundle issues????
I have the graphics pack - mentioned that in one of the earlier topic posts. And in terms of what is shown in the gallery/library graphics panel (which is where I would expect any graphics add-ons to appear, sorted by pattern, background etc per the drop-down list), it's gone missing. My library section??? where's that? the library panels have nothing that says that which I could find - not just on graphics but on any option in the library toolbar.
But the main point here is that these freebies are supposed to enhance the VS experience, be easy to use etc ... but the way Corel has done it, all they are doing is making it harder and pissing the users off: certainly not easy to use or even find, and even if you can do that, the thumbnails are so generic you would not be able to choose which one to use unless each one was - laboriously - loaded into a timeline to see what it actually says/does: don't like it? delete and repeat.
My basic conclusion after all this - too hard, don't do it.
