So perhaps the clip a 9% is the one causing the problem?
Does the crash always occur at 9%? What happens if you add one clip at a time until the crash occurs? I know that is a tedious debug but it seems that one of your clips is corrupt.
Why is VideoStudio 2019 so Unstable/Unusable?!!

Hi
To render using same properties
Share – top left tick the box for Same as Project Settings (a little greyed out)
The down arrow gives the option for Same as First Video Clip, I would use that option.
This will ensure that you are using the same video clips settings
I don’t think this will fix the last render that failed at 9%
You need to view the clips on the timeline -- what is in the timeline at 9%
Clip types, Transitions, FX filters added, speed timelapse etc.
How long is the project?

Re: Why is VideoStudio 2019 so Unstable/Unusable?!!
Thanks for the additional tips!
I do not believe the clip at 9% is corrupt. It just so happened that VideoStudio crashed at 9% this time. The percent complete at the time of the crash changes each time. I have on occasion reached almost 100% even, and then a crash.
I have also reached 100% a few times, but as I mentioned before, the beginning of each new clip looks slightly corrupted (like a bad video tape or something). It's very brief, but jarring. The original clip is pristine and they render perfectly in the other editors.
The other reason I do not believe it is an issue of corrupted source video clips is the 3 other video editing programs that had no issues with the exact same source material. I could be wrong, but it makes logical sense to me that other editors would also trip over corrupt source material.
At the moment, tech support wants me to generate a report about windows and drivers, so I will complete that and submit. I will also continue to experiment.
Thanks for the tip on "Same as Project Settings". I *think* I tried that, but will try again.
Oh, also, the clips are all video from the same day with the same camera (so all the same settings/properties as I outlined earlier). It is JUST the clips on the timeline. The only additional step was trimming the start and end of most clips. I have not added a single effect or transition yet. Really just wanted to preview my rough edit on my full size TV. And since you asked, the full project is 4 mins 46 seconds long.

Why are you continuing to spend time debugging your issues with Video Studio, instead of going to another product....like the ones you said work fine........just curious about that.
Having issues myself and will just go to another product, maybe Adobe, or some simple video editing software, since all I'm doing is cutting/splicing various AVI clips from CamStudio.
The output is severely degraded from the input. Both using AVI - MS Video 1 codec.
Boggles the mind that a $60 video program can't handle the most simple of tasks........lol.

Re: Why is VideoStudio 2019 so Unstable/Unusable?!!
I really like Corel VideoStudio. Found editing in it so far to be intuitive and well designed. I have had some frustrations with Adobe's interface (which they did not update at all in 2020) and I had already moved away from Pinnacle Studio (I think version 19 is the last version I purchased). After a lot of research and looking at reviews, I chose to purchase VideoStudio. Rendering is the only issue I have had. If I can get that fixed, fingers crossed I'm good to move forward with VideoStudio.
