Quicktime

Post by alexchan »

I am trying to make Quicktime .mov file but is always so large. Which setting should I choose to make it same like wmv 700k? Cause my 1:30 file in wmv is just few MB but with Quicktime is like 10 times more and the quality doesn't seem a lot different.

Thanks.

As the compression methods are different, this could be normal. Why not stick with WMV, which is readable with OS/X, MAC and Linux, as well as WIN?

If you are compressing to put on-line, I've found that quicktime has been the best choice for me.

People have complained that .wmv's , while playing on their Mac's, lag and skip and don't come out good.

Here's the best compressing setup I've found for quicktime...

320x240
MPEG-4 compression and anywhere from 40-80% quality , adjust it as you need to depending on how it turns out... etc.

Keyframe every 30 frames

(for internet) check the "Prepare for fast Streaming" box

(if for viewing on the computer) probably want to de-interlace

Audio Compression: 16 bits mono, IMA 4:1

Try this, it should give you decent results!
