I recently purchased the VideoStudio Ultimate 2019 and also purchased the MultiCam software.
When I use the MultiCam software the video from the screen capture and other cameras look perfect. When I put the files into VS2019 the quality looks like ***. Text in the screen record is blurry at best and most times is so choppy it looks like a foreign language.
I am having a hard time figuring out why the quality is so bad once the video clips are put into VS2019. Both the webcam and the screen are 1080P. I have even changed the webcam to 480p but no matter what it looks horrible once in VS2019.
Any ideas on what needs to change so the quality is as good as the video loaded into the program?
The attached image is the "BEST" any text has looked to this point.

Re: VS2019 and MultiCam help needed
Hi
And welcome to the forums
A bit of a poor response from Corel?
Using Screen Captures records using the resolution of our monitors to get full quality we should record the full screen
A HD video would use 1920 x 1080
My monitor is a little smaller at 1680 x 1050 and that is the largest video resolution I can record
Adding that video to the timeline of Video Studio set to HD will have the effect of zooming into the video and that shows a small reduction in quality. Taking a snapshot using Video Studio will be poor but can be improved by setting the Project Settings to use 4 K settings.
What is the resolution of your recorded video?
What does the video look like when playing using your media players, try using VLC Media player
Image shows my attempt at screen recording followed by snapshot to Jpeg

Re: VS2019 and MultiCam help needed
Hi Lata
When I use MultiCam to record, I can play these files back and the video is perfect. Its not until I load the videos into VS2019 that they become distorted and blurry.
For instance if I record my screen and 1 other camera for 2 minutes and play each one back with a media player, they are perfect. If I load one of these 2 minute clips or both using one as an overlay the video gets bad. The first few seconds will be fine but the closer you get to the end, the worse it looks. (even after rendering)

Hi
A quick test showed using Smart Proxy did reduce the quality of the video
This has been mentioned in the past as a bug which i assumed Corel had fixed
Can you try deselecting Smart Proxy and deleting any proxy files that have been created for your video file
Settings Smart Proxy Manager - File Manager
Using Capture gives options to record to AVC and Mjpeg
Advanced tab - encode options, at least for the Lite version i am using
You should try both options to compare quality.

Re: VS2019 and MultiCam help needed
Thanks for the reply. I have changed and recorded in both AVC and Mjpeg. All the clips look perfect until loaded into VS2019. I even went as far as downloading OB Studio and recording with it. Again everything looks perfect until loaded into VS2019. You cant even read the text when the recordings are 1080P and loaded into the program. Even though I was having great recordings before I even went and purchased a new HD monitor and upgraded to 23G of RAM. Still horrible text when loaded into the softwarelata wrote:Hi

Can you upload a short clip that your captured to a site such as GoogleDrive or dropbox? We could then test it to see if we have the same problem

Are you complaining about pre-rendering resolution or post-rendering resolution? If the latter then have you deselected the "Enable Smart Proxy" before rendering?MrLister wrote:All the clips look perfect until loaded into VS2019.

My test showed using Smart Proxy files caused the quality to deteriorate, lata wrote:Hi

Settings Smart Proxy Manager - File Manager.
Go to Settings - Smart proxy File Manager and delete the file associated with your captured video
Then Settings Smart Proxy and deselect Enable Smart Proxy
Does that improve the quality

Smart Proxy Quality issue
I had thought that simply deselecting Smart Proxy would improve the quality, for me I had also to delete the proxy file, repeated test a few times
I had also thought that Corel had fixed this issue, seems not.
The poor quality is more noticeable when viewing text.
As for a sample I captured my own video from the same web site.
